We will learn to use a 3D action, some grass and water, and some texture of the image how to create a three-dimensional map in Photoshop. All we have to do is make Photoshop play super powerful. After the action is done, we will do some retouching and add some trees, clouds and any other 3D models you like, and you can also add some 3D buildings, cars, airplanes ... It all depends on your own preferences.

Step One:

First, we need to create a 2D screen, so we need to select the Lasso tool and fill it with gray. Or select the Pen tool to create a vector shape that you like. As a third option, you can choose to use the real map vector shape.

Step Two:

This layer uses the map shape "tile grass texture" to copy the texture of a new PSD file in edit/define pattern. Open the Layer Blending mode window and add "bevel and Emboss" and "pattern overlay" to apply your defined grass pattern.

Now this map should look like this:

Step Three:

Create a new layer on this layer, load the selection (press CTRL + click the layer thumbnail). Sets the foreground color to white and the background color to black. Select "Filter/Render/Cloud". Change the blending mode of this layer to "overlay", with an opacity of 65%.

Step Four:

Create a new layer and name it: The water, use the material "water" and make one or two options to increase its texture to make it look like a lake. Adjust the texture to make the effect more realistic.

Open the Blending mode window of the water layer and add inner shadow and bevel and emboss.

You can add any other planar units to this map, such as roads. You can also design these planes according to your preferences. Select all layers (do not include background layers) and merge the layers. Name this layer as "shape 1".

Step Five:

Now I'm going to use one of my Photoshop 3D actions to draw a 3D map. So download this free 3D action, load it in Photoshop, and apply it to the Shape 1 layer.

Jian Tu layer, and then clear the layer style for two layers (select, right-click and select Clear Layer style.) Name the first layer "grassland" and the second layer is "ground." For "ground" layers, you can use ground textures like Earth, rock, Earth, and so on. Here we use the "dirt ground texture" to adjust it and add an "inner shadow" effect to give it a three-dimensional look.

Step Six:

Copy the ground layer and load the ground layer selection (press CTRL + click the ground layer thumbnail) to select the Ctrl+shift+i area (+) and press the DELETE key. So you get two different levels of ground texture.

Step Seven:

Add a brightness/contrast adjustment layer to the ground copy layer. It also adds a "shadow" effect to the layer blending mode of the two "ground" layers, as shown in the figure. We will make further adjustments, and since we have added other elements, then of course we have to integrate them into the entire effect.

Step Eight:

Now it's time to add a background to the 3D map. Create a new layer and rename it to "gradient layer," using a color to add a linear gradient to #559abf and white.

Step Nine:

Add a new layer to rename the "Water" to add a high quality "aqua" grain, adjust to the correct perspective position, set to match and change the blending mode to "overlay", opacity 50% level.

Step Ten:

Now let's mix the "water" and the rest of the 3D map. Add a blending mode/inner shadow effect to a layer on the lawn.

Modify the shadow effect on the ground layer, referring to the settings in the following illustration.

Step 11:

Use the soft corner brush to draw some waves and bubbles on a new layer around the edges of the "ground" layer area.

Step 12:

Add some duplicate cut trees on a new layer as shown in the following illustration.

Every tree or group of trees needs a shadow, so use a soft brush to quickly draw shadows on a new layer using black. Change the blending mode to adjust the opacity of the overlay.

Step 13:

Now, I'm going to use some nice cloud brushes to add some clouds to the 3D map, and you also need to add shadows to these clouds.

To make all the parts connected together, we add a photo filter to adjust the layer and add a nice yellow hue.

You can also add other elements you want, like cars, buildings, boats, airplanes, roads, but be very careful to use perspective and other effects to add these elements.

Another idea is to use the 3D shipping and building icons like the 3D architecture and GPS map icons below, which are already in the transparent format of PNG. This combination also contains a number of cool logos and map pin signs and signposts that you can add to your map.

You can also search the Internet for other cool logos or even 3D models, which is the ultimate effect, I really hope you like my 3D map.
