Photoshop to create an international landscape map

When I first came to Oregon's Portland, I was deeply attracted to the city, Gray sky, shuttle in the city of the Willamette River, all this makes this city unique. Some of Mark Weaver's works give me a lot of inspiration, he usually uses a photograph as a background, uses a low saturation hue, and then designs. After the trip, I think it is necessary to design a number of Oregon works as a souvenir, this time the work is great, so I decided to share the PS tutorial.

Final effect Diagram

Step 1:

Open PS, create a new file, size 2880x1800, so that it can be applied to my desktop wallpaper. Then start looking for background photos. I found a photo of Dan Thornberg's "Northwest Oregon State Columbia Valley Vista" on Shutterstock.

Step 2:

Layers > New adjustment layer > Hue saturation

Hue 54 saturation 12 lightness 16

Select coloring

This is the adjustment that I make according to this picture, you should make the appropriate adjustment according to the difference of the picture that you choose.

Step 3:

In the adjustment layer, draw a circle in the center of the screen, then fill the black, so that the rounded area can show the original color.

Step 4:

Create a new layer on top of the other layer and fill it with black. With the Brush tool (B), use the appropriate size, soft brush, white at the center point of the screen. The effect is shown in the following illustration

Step 5:

This layer mode selects "multiply"

Step 6:

Select a relatively good leaky effect on the Internet, which I found from the previous resources.

Figure 06

Step 7:

Remove the circular area of step 3 in the Leaky effect layer (figure below)

Figure 07

Step 8:

Layer blending mode is linear dodge opacity 90%

Figure 08

Step 9:

Copy all the layers and merge them into a new layer. Then filter > Blur > Gaussian blur, RADIUS selection 10, blending mode to overlay, opacity 40%

Figure 09

Step 10:

Create a new layer, or draw a circle in the middle of the screen, fill it with black, multiply 50%, and block the leaky layer.

Step 11:

Add your logo, in the case I joined the "A" and "Oregon.summer 2013"

Figure 11

Step 12:

Select Background photo, Filter-"blur-" tilt offset. Then slightly adjust the above and below the dotted line, respectively up and down a point.

Figure 12

Conclusion:

You can add details based on some of your favorite designs. You can also enhance the leaky effect, let them become visible, so that the color of the picture is very strong. This is mainly through the works of Mark Weaver gave me the power to create, while also recording my Oregon impression.

I hope you will enjoy this tutorial.
