There is a very good tool in the Photoshop CS5 version. Some call it a "magic wand tool," but Photoshop's engineers call it "content-aware padding." So what's the use of this tool? Well, you guessed it, it was used to fill. It uses the comprehensive details surrounding the selection to create a fill area to replace or remove unwanted objects from the picture's selection.
In the new version of PS CS6, there is a better tool called "Content recognition mobile tool", which has two options: Move and extend. The move option allows you to move an object from a to B. The first step is to create a selection around the object you want to move, and make sure you have some space around the edge. The Extend option allows you to extend the length of an item, such as a building, an object, or an animal. All of these features require only a few simple steps to be done in minutes, which can help you save a lot of time while editing.
Let's take a look at how the "Content Recognition fill" tool is used! Get a piece of material first.
Figure 01
This is a beautiful picture of the natural landscape, but there are some things that seem superfluous in the picture. Like the traffic signs. So let us remove it first.
Step One:
First, use the rectangular selection tool (M) to draw a rectangular selection around a signpost.
Figure 02
Step Two:
Select Edit-> Fill and select from pop-up window: Content Fill tool, click OK. Then the signpost was removed easily.
Then, using the same steps to get it to the left of another signpost, our picture looks much more comfortable.
Figure 03
Now, let me introduce this new content recognition mobile tool. As I've just mentioned, this tool has two options, moving and extending. First, let's take a look at the "move" option.
The horses in the picture look so scattered that they can get them closer.
Figure 04
Step One:
First, we use the contents of the CS6 to recognize the mobile (J) new tool and draw a selection along the horse.
Figure 05
Step Two:
Then, drag the selection to the desired position. Photoshop analyzes itself and moves the selection of the horse to where we want it, and removes it from the original selection. Is it simple?
Figure 06
Then we use the same steps to move the white Horse to the center of the right. Now the horses are together.
Figure 07
Now, let me introduce the extension options. When you want to extend an object, you will find that it is a very useful tool. It helps you avoid the tedious steps of cutting and pasting.
Step One:
Create a selection around the part of the object that you want to extend.
Figure 08
Step Two:
Gently drag the selection toward the direction you want to extend.
Figure 09
Using the above simple steps to edit can be dispensed with other cumbersome procedures.
It's simple, just try it!
