PowerPoint2007 import text from a Web page
PowerPoint accepts text from a variety of Web page formats, including HTML and MHTLM (a single File Web page). This is useful if the data is in an ordered outline format or originally created from a PowerPoint file, because there is very little cleanup required.
The methods for importing from a Web page are as follows:
Open a Web page file as you open the outline (see previous description), but set the file type to all pages.
Inserts text from a Web page as you insert text from the Word outline (on the Home tab, click the new Slide "C") slide (from the outline) spoon.
Reuse slides in a Web presentation the same way you reuse slides from other presentations (on the Start tab, click New Slide-> "reuse slides.")
Warning: You should use one of these methods rather than pasting HTML text directly into PowerPoint. Because when you paste HTML text, you may get unwanted HTML tags, including the possibility of leading an attempt to log on to a Web server each time you open a presentation.
When importing from a Web page, do not expect the content to display exactly the same as the page. The only discussion here is the text import. The Web page format originates from an HTML tag or style sheet, but neither can be imported. If you want to get exactly the same look as your Web page, you can use the SHIFT + Printscreen key to get a snapshot of the page and paste it into PowerPoint as a picture (Ctrl + V).
If you want to import an outline from a MHTML format page that contains a picture, the picture is also imported into PowerPoint. If you import from a normal HTML file, you cannot guide the picture.
Tip: If you need to display the actual page in PowerPoint, try using Shyam Pillai's free live web add-in, as detailed in www.mvps.org/skp/liveweb.htm.
