PowerPoint2007 new slides from the outline pane
As described in chapter 1th, the outline pane displays the text on a presentation slide as a hierarchy tree, the slide title as the top-level (slide level), and the bulleted list at various levels in the slide as the subordinate level. The text you type in the Outline pane appears on the slide, and vice versa, as shown in Figure 4.1.
Note: In fact, the outline pane does not display all of the text in any case; see the "Manually create a text pivot" section later in this chapter to see why text in a text box does not appear in the outline pane.
To create a new slide from the outline pane, follow these steps:
1. Switch to normal view.
2. Right-click the new slide in the outline pane bell the text line that follows.
3. Click New Slide. A new row appears in the outline pane with a slide symbol on the left.
4. Type a title for the new slide. The title is displayed in the outline pane and on the slide.
You can use another method to create a new slide, open a new row in the Outline pane, and then press SHIFT + TAB to upgrade it to the slide level. Follow these steps to insert a new slide in this way:
1. Position the insertion point at the end of the last line of the slide that bell the new slide, and then press ENTER to start the new row.
2. Press Shi negative +tab to upgrade the new row to the highest level (repeatedly press this key combination if necessary) so that the slide icon appears to the left.
3. Type a title for the new slide. The title is displayed in the outline pane and on the slide.
After you create a slide, you can continue to create its contents directly in the Outline pane. Press ENTER to start a new row, and then use the TAB key to demote or use the SHIFT + TAB key to upgrade the row to the desired level. You can also right-click the text and choose Upgrade or demote. Upgrading a row to the top can turn the row into a new slide title.
