Practical use techniques in CorelDRAW

CorelDRAW in the use of the time there are some practical skills, the following to share with you:

7. Deselect the selected objects (one or more): press ESC or click in the blank space of the workspace.

Tips for drawing basic graphics:

1. Draw a square, circle:

Select the Rectangle/Ellipse tool, hold down the CTRL key, drag the left arrow to draw, finish drawing, notice to release CTRL first, then release left

2. Draw a square circle with a starting point:

5. Draw basic shapes from the center

Click the drawing tool that you want to use. Hold down the SHIFT key and position the cursor where you want to draw the center of the shape, and drag the mouse diagonally to draw the shape. Release the mouse button first to finish drawing the shape, and then release the SHIFT key.

6. Draw an equal length shape from the center

Click the drawing tool that you want to use. Hold down the SHIFT + CTRL key. The cursor is positioned where you want the center of the shape to be drawn. Drag the mouse diagonally to draw the shape. Release the mouse button to finish drawing the shape, and then release the SHIFT + CTRL key.

Editing tips

1. Rotate: Double-click the object, hold down CTRL, drag the object on the handle to rotate by 15 degree increments

2. Move: Hold CTRL while moving to restrict movement in both horizontal and vertical directions (similar to ortho-orthogonal in AutoCAD)

3. Move the object incrementally: the arrow keys on the keyboard allow you to fine-tune the object in any direction. By default, objects are moved in 0.1-inch increments. You can modify the increment by setting the edit page in the Property bar or Options dialog box.

4. Zoom In: Click Select, Shift-Drag the control handle to scale the size of the object, hold down CTRL and drag the control handle, you can indent by 100% increments hold alt? Give it a try.

5. While dragging, press and hold the CTRL key to rotate the object in increments of 15 degrees. Hard to draw well, careless operation, how to do? Note: Locking and unlocking cannot be used to reconcile objects, adapt to path text, objects that have shadow effects, and so on.

6. Notice below the workspace, the status bar above, there is a "page" tab, right click will pop up a right-click menu, you can:

Rename page, before this page, insert page, toggle page orientation (Horizontal cargo portrait), change page size

7. Similarly, right click on the ruler, pop up a right-click menu, you can: set the ruler, set the guides, set the grid

8. Set the ruler's origin: Drag the horizontal and vertical rulers at the intersection to a position, this is the new ruler origin, and then look at the ruler, also changed.

9. Move the mouse over the horizontal or vertical ruler, hold and drag, pull out a guide and display as the current object, and you can pull multiple guides as well. This is a simple and intuitive way to set up guides. Keep the guides selected, click again, turn the two-way arrows on the guides, and rotate! (Press CTRL to try) if you want to set its coordinates exactly, rotate the angle, double-click it, and set it up in the pop-up Options dialog. If not, simply press Del to delete it again.

10. Fill in vector graphics or text: Directly drag the color swatch on the color plate to vector graphics (text), notice the cursor changes, when displayed as a solid small color block, is the standard fill, is displayed as a hollow color block, is set its contour line color. Another way: Select the vector graphic or text that you want to set, left-click the color block, the standard fill, right-click the color block, and set the contour line color.

11. For the above fill, to be mixed with other colors to adjust the shade, and do not want to use a gradient fill, how to do? 14. In the Options dialog box, select Workspace/Custom/menu item/In the catalog tree, and the middle window of the dialog box will list all the commands in CorelDRAW9, and the right window will display a list of menus. Rectangular and circular tools (Rectangle tool, Ellipse)

This is a tool that any user who touches Corel draw will use and is initially exposed to.

Tips:

When you drag the mouse with the SHIFT key, the drawing will be centered with the starting point (the default is a corner)

Press the CTRL key to drag the mouse, you can draw a square or a positive circle.

Try pressing the SHIFT and CTRL keys at the same time to draw.

Shortcut key: Rectangle is F6, Circle is F7

The naming of this tool is a bit strange, but there seems to be no other generic term that summarizes the following three tools:

Polygon Tools (Polygon tool): Create 3-sided, 4-sided, 5-sided shapes ... Of course you can try a 120-side shape, but it's almost the same as a circle. You can also draw 3-point star, four-star, 5-point star ...

This is a new tool for Corel Draw 10, which is a great addition to users who do not use Corel Draw, or who only intend to use Corel Draw for flowcharts and Office documents. Quickly get a variety of shapes without the need for complex curve edits:

This is the most powerful feature group of Corel Draw! With a series of interactive tools, you can create stunning vector effects, namely:

Interactive blending (Interactive blend Tool): Produces shapes, color gradients between two or more objects, and can also be gradient along a path

Interactive Contour (Interactive Contour tool): Contours of an object can be produced inward or outward, and this tool can make effects such as glow or feathering

Interactive Twist (Interactive Distortion tool): Very cool twist tools, including push-to-press twist, serrated twist, and rotational twist

Interactive Envelope (Interactive Envelope Tool): Encapsulates an object in a frame, and implements the overall deformation of the content object by the deformation of the frame.

Interactive Stretching (Interactive Extrude tool): I prefer to refer to it as a 3D stretching tool, which allows you to simulate three-dimensional objects without using any external filters.

Interactive Shadows (Interactive DropShadow tool): the tools that produce high-precision stereoscopic projections, which are simulated three-dimensional projections

Interactive Transparency (Interactive Transparency Tool): Allows vector objects to achieve various types of transparency and overlays like the layers within Photoshop (although the name of the overlay type is different), Corel Draw 10 has a new contour line transparency.

Tip: Detailed usage of this set of tools is described in a later section.

Dropper/Paint bucket tools (eyedrop tool, Paintbucket)

This tool makes it very easy for the user to get the objects, even the colors in the imported bitmap, and then apply them to other objects.

Tip: Be aware of the difference between the paint bucket tool and the fill tool. The difference is that the color the paint bucket fills is obtained directly from the eyedropper tool, and the fill tool fills the color that is obtained from the palette or the color docker to modify the width, style, and color of the object's contour, which is a traditional tool, but since it is not a creative tool but a property modification tool, So it is slowly merging with some of the properties of the Docker, which may not be seen in future versions of Corel Draw (just one guess).

Contour Pen dialog box (Outline pen Dialog): Note the name of it, which is a property dialog box instead of a tool, which is one of the guesses I just made. Its function is to adjust the contour thickness, color, style.

Outline Color dialog box (Outline color Dialog): quick way to get to the Contour Pen Color dialog, I think it should be replaced by the color Docker soon, as explained below.

No contour line (no Outline): It is the same as choosing no color in the palette

Hairline Contour Line (hairline Outline): This is a conceptual rather than an actual width, with the mathematical "infinity" is a meaning.

The next 6 are preset widths of 1/2, 1, 2, 8, 16, 24, respectively.

Color Docker window: Opens the Color docking window, which allows you to adjust the object's outline color in real time using the Color slider (slider), Viewer (Viewer), and swatches (Palettes).

Tip: Shortcut key: Outline Pen dialog box is F12, Outline color dialog box is SHIFT+F12

The tool to modify the object's fill, based on the above reasons, I think it will be replaced.

Fill Color dialog box (fill Color Dialog): Changing the fill color should also be replaced by the color Docker.

Gradient Fill dialog box (Fountain fill Dialog): This is the only tool that produces beautiful vector gradients, but it is almost obsolete since the interactive fill (Interactive fill, which will be explained later) appears.

Hatch dialog box (Pattern fill Dialog): A tool that is tiled with software or a bitmap pattern that you define.

Texture Fill dialog box (Texture fill Dialog): CorelDRAW another feature. Although the fill content is lattice, it is derived from a mathematical model, that is, no matter how large your graphics, using texture fills will have the same effect.

PS Texture Fill dialog box (PostScript Texture fill Dialog): Similar to hatch, but filled patterns are vectors rather than bitmaps.

No fill: It works the same as selecting no color in the palette

About the CTRL key:

When you drag an object, hold down the CTRL key, and the object is constrained to move up or down, or move around, but not simultaneously in two directions.

When you rotate an object while holding down the CTRL key, the rotation is fixed to rotate in 15-degree increments, and the default 15 degrees are modified in tools->options->edit->constrain angle.

When you change the size of the object, the dimensions are scaled in full multiples.

You can create a positive shape by pressing the CTRL key while creating a graphic, such as a square, a circle (rather than a normal rectangle and an ellipse).

Hold down the CTRL key while using interactive Fountain fill (interactive gradient fill), and the fill angle will be 15-degree increments. Select an object (where 8 handles appear around the object), hold down the CTRL key, and drag a handle to the direction of the relative handle to create a mirror image of the object horizontally, vertically, and 45 degrees.
