Use Access security features to prevent viruses

Database Security has two options: Database Password protection and user-level security.

1. Database Password protection

You can add a password to the database as follows:

(1) Open the database exclusively.

(2) Select "security" in the "Tools" menu, and then select "set Database Password ".

(3) enter and verify the password.

After that, you must enter the correct password to open the database. To infect a database with password protection, the security feature of Access will prompt the user to enter the password. alert users will detect this operation as abnormal, in the Password Input dialog box, select "cancel" to not open the database, thus preventing virus infection.

2. user-level security

User-level security can be used to grant different permissions to users in different groups. The procedure is as follows:

(1) use the "Working Group Administrator" program to create and connect a working group file. This Program is generally located in the Program FilesMicrosoft Office directory, and the shortcut name is "MS Access Workgroup Administrator ".

(2) create a new user and add the user to the Administrator group.

(3) Remove the Administrator account from the Administrator group.

(4) assign a password to the user in the new Administrator group and force the user to log on with the password.

(5) Restart Access and log on as the new Administrator.

(6) run the "user-level security wizard" to create a new database and copy all objects to the new database.

Now you have a database with security protection. Users and groups can be added to the security dialog box to assign appropriate permissions. After that, if you download a potentially toxic database from the network, you can use the default workgroup file to open the database, even if it is really toxic, viruses in the drug-containing database do not have sufficient permissions to infect the database with security protection.
