Written by Tsinghua University Press Java programmer at work: bell: Section 1.2:
It is so difficult for college graduates to find a job now that this question cannot be avoided in this book. The current situation is quite different from what I did when I graduated. This is a big topic. It is not a single word that relates to "Society", "economy", "culture", "education", and many other fields, we are also aware of the gap between the Chinese education system and social employment needs.
This book does not expect to be able to clearly explain it in this section. It only hopes to give a reason based on the specific circumstances of the industry and give a solution to the students at this stage.
It is said that "it is so difficult for college graduates to find a job now." people who start from this industry are irresponsible, the answer is nothing more than a plausible explanation "lack of work experience ".
At first glance, it seems to be very reasonable, but if you think about it carefully, it is simply "nonsense ".
Where can I find my new graduates?
If, by this logic, all graduates are unemployed, because they have never worked before and where they come from, so they will never find a job. To face this question seriously, our answer is:
Lack of skills or skills required to apply for this position.If you say this, you must know that it is not only difficult for new graduates to find a job. If you have "work experience", but do not have the skills and abilities necessary to apply for the job!
Therefore, to solve this problem, as a majority of new graduates, we must find out what technologies and capabilities are necessary to apply for the job.
That is, the experience of work experience.
1.2.1 experience
As we have already said, the so-called work experience is "the technology and capabilities necessary to apply for a job". What does this technology and capability actually mean?
We only analyze this work experience from the industry. He has two problems: "technology" and "Capability ".
1.2.1.1 first let's talk about "essential technologies"
At this time, some may say, "I already have a lot of program development technologies, Java, C #, and VB. Are these technologies not enough ?"
I will not hesitate to tell you, "not enough !". Let's look back at the resume we mentioned in the preface: It is mainly used in computer maintenance, application, and development: software: now, we have passed the national soft Test Center Software Designer qualification examination;
Familiar ide environments: VC ++, C ++ builder, and VB;
The main database interface used: Ado;
Mainly used Data source: Access, SQL Server, good at using SQL language;
The main graphic interface is OpenGL, which also has some knowledge about DirectX interfaces;
Other languages: Java (J2EE, j2-based );
Network: familiar with ASP, PHP, javastript, and network architecture design, construction, debugging, and a considerable understanding of security knowledge;
System Maintenance: Three years of computer maintenance experience, familiar with the operating principle of the system;
Others: familiar with the use of almost all common software such as CAD and Photoshop, and the application of Unix systems. This resume shows almost all the technologies currently developed by the Information System, for fear that the employer will not give him an interview because of its incomplete technology.
As a result, only one company asked him to go to the interview.
The technology we mentioned here does not mean "wide", but "excellent ".
If this student has completed those technologies, I think it takes at least one year for each technology to meet the requirements of employers, the technology mentioned in his resume can be counted as many as 10. How long does it take to master it all? Answer: 10 years! So, I would like to ask, which technology can be used independently by this new graduate student?
Experienced supervisors will know at a glance that this gentleman is "fresh ".
Therefore, the majority of our students should start with the depth and accuracy of the technology they have mastered, Which is what employers need most.
1.2.1.2 Let's Talk About "essential capabilities"
Speaking of ability, many of our graduating students are willing to give their comments that "I have a strong learning ability !" Or "have a good learning consciousness" and so on.
Please refer to the self-evaluation in your resume:I am cheerful, conscientious, pioneering, not afraid of setbacks, and have a good sense of teamwork! Has good physical and psychological qualities, strong learning consciousness and self-learning ability. As a member of the IT industry, I am willing to spend more time, not afraid of difficulties, and strive to improve my professional skills! He seems to be doing well in his speech. If he thinks that he is the class teacher, he will be very pleased-he is a diligent and studious student!
However, in detail, his speech focuses on "learning ability and learning consciousness" and "strong desire for self-improvement ", obviously, he wants employers to know how good he is at school, or for fear that the employer thinks that he is not doing well in school. In short, he tries his best to highlight his learning ability.
Speaking of this, some students will say, "the strong desire to highlight the strong learning ability and self-improvement does not mean that he or she is a good student. Is there anything wrong ?"
Of course not. If I am an employer, I would like to ask you, "What is the relationship between your strong learning ability and your desire for self-improvement ", obviously, your first wish to work is to improve your technical skills. In other words, you must have no idea about this job, I hope to use "strong learning ability" to tell employers that "although I can't do anything now, I have a strong learning ability and will learn it soon ".
What I often hear in my company is:A Jun :.......
Supervisor: "What's your purpose here? Or work? If you want to study, you should give me tuition instead of asking for my salary ."
This is indeed a bit harsh, but it just reflects the needs of employers in terms of talent capabilities. This demand is the ability to create value, instead of your "self-improvement and learning" abilities.1.2.1.3 conclusion: What is work experience?
Work experience is: have the precision and depth of the technology required for the position, preferably very familiar with that technology, have a sense of service for the company, and have the ability to create value for the company, at least cost-saving capability for the company.
Through the above analysis, we learned what is the true intention of recruitment by employers. In this way, we can easily write a resume that meets the needs of employers, and at the same time know our own efforts. Once the supply and demand relationship is consistent, the only phenomenon is "Frequent interview notifications ".《Java programmers, work",Preface,DirectoryZhuo Yue network sales Link
