Provisioning Services 7.8 Getting Started Tutorial Xi. Automatic update of virtual disks with version control
In the actual production environment, to ensure the stable operation of the system, to prevent the failure of the system paralysis, so the failover, high availability is particularly important.
From the components involved in the PVS deployment, there are several ways to achieve availability:
1. Active Directory DC
2. DHCP server
3. Database SQL
4. Network
5. PVS server (TFTP server)
6. Storage
For Active Directory, DHCP, and database servers, you can use failover clustering to implement
Windows Server R2 29 failover cluster (i)
Windows Server R2 30 failover cluster (ii)
Windows Server 31 deployment of DHCP cluster R2
Deploying SQL Server R2 cluster under Windows R2
Deploying SQL Server R2 Cluster under Windows R2 (ii)
For networks, users can install multiple network cards, multipath, and separate the stream network from the management Network on the PVS server. The multi-card NIC used for stream uses NLB technology.
For storage, you can use networked storage and use cluster technology.
Windows Server 2012 iSCSI Target server cluster
For the high availability of PVS servers, multiple PVS servers can be installed and DNS polling is used.

This completes the high availability of the bootstrapper.
4. Set load Balancing.
Right-click the virtual disk and select load Balancing
650) this.width=650; "title=" DC073 "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" DC073 "src=" http:// S3.51cto.com/wyfs02/m02/7f/fd/wkiom1czv8mykjqbaaez5stf9ds185.jpg "width=" 794 "height=" 504 "/>
Set the load balancing algorithm to enable rebalancing.
Use the load balancing algorithm to provide the option to enable or disable the load Balancing algorithm, which selects the most idle server to supply the virtual disk to the target device.
Subnet affinity. When assigning a combination of servers and NIC to provide the virtual disk for the target device, select from the following subnet settings:
None – ignores subnets, and uses the most idle server. The default setting is None.
Best results – Use the/nic combination of the most idle servers in the same subnet. If there is no available server/nic combination in the subnet, select the most idle server from outside the subnet. If there are more than one available server in the selected subnet, load balancing is performed between those servers.
Fixed – Use the/nic combination of the most idle servers in the same subnet. Load balancing is performed between the servers in the subnet. If the server/nic combination does not exist in the same subnet, do not boot the target device that is assigned to the virtual disk.
Enable rebalancing. If this setting is enabled, the number of target devices on each server is rebalanced when the trigger percentage is exceeded. When enabled, Provisioning Services checks the percentage of triggers on each server every 10 minutes.
Note: If the number of target devices on each server is less than 5, or if more than 20% of the target devices are currently booting, no re-load balancing will occur. The target device that is currently booting is not moved to a different server.
The trigger percentage. The percentage of overload that must be reached to trigger the target device to be re-load balanced. For example, if the trigger percentage equals 25%, the load balance will occur when the server's payload is 25% higher than the other servers that can provide the virtual disk. The value is between 5 and 5000, and the default value is 25.
650) this.width=650; "title=" DC074 "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" DC074 "src=" http:// S3.51cto.com/wyfs02/m02/7f/fa/wkiol1czwldi4aubaafdeb5rm4k197.jpg "width=" 875 "height=" 485 "/>
5. Use "Rebalance equipment".
In the real world, when a large number of shutdown phenomena occur in the target device that connects to a PVS server, the load of the PVS server changes, and the "rebalance device" can be used at this time.
650) this.width=650; "title=" DC075 "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" DC075 "src=" http:// S3.51cto.com/wyfs02/m00/7f/fd/wkiom1czv9py8irwaadxlt8oosk778.jpg "width=" 704 "height=" 404 "/>

No related settings for shared storage
If two servers do not have shared storage, and they use their own local hard disk as storage, the virtual disk files may only be saved on the respective hard disk of a file, how to set it?
First, in "Server Properties", edit the storage path for the respective local hard drive.
650) this.width=650; "title=" DC077 "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" DC077 "src=" http:// S3.51cto.com/wyfs02/m01/7f/fd/wkiom1czv9ibqug1aadwvzpqhqw656.jpg "width=" 692 "height=" 535 "/>
650) this.width=650; "title=" DC078 "style=" border-right-width:0px;background-image:none;border-bottom-width:0px; padding-top:0px;padding-left:0px;padding-right:0px;border-top-width:0px; "border=" 0 "alt=" DC078 "src=" http:// S3.51cto.com/wyfs02/m01/7f/fa/wkiol1czwl2x8jdwaafncdbdr7q778.jpg "width=" 784 "height=" 532 "/>
The second is to copy the virtual disk files to the folder where each of the other PVS (such as PVS02) is stored, so that the virtual disk files are multiple copies. This also provides high availability.
Third, you can view the replication status.
Right-click the virtual disk and select Copy status.
