Continuation Provisioning Services 7.8 Introductory Series Tutorial seven batch import device
The biggest drawback to bulk importing devices is that the MAC addresses of all devices must be recorded accurately before importing. Of course, this approach also has many conveniences, such as the ability to add different devices to different sites, different collections.
The third way to do this is to add the device through the Auto-Add Wizard:
Using the Auto-add wizard
The Auto-Add Wizard automatically configures a variety of rules to automatically add new target devices to the Provisioning Services database with the auto-add feature.
You can start the Auto-Add wizard at the farm, site, collection, or device level. If you start at a level lower than the farm, the wizard uses the option at this level as the default option. For example, if you start on a specific target device, the wizard will:
Select the device's site as the "default site" in the combo box.
In the combo box, select the collection of the device as the default collection.
Select the device as the template device option in the combo box.
In each page displayed by the Auto-Add Wizard, the values for each option are preselected according to the start location of the wizard.
Farm administrators can enable or disable the auto-add feature, and select the default site.
For site administrators, to select the default site, the administrator must be the site administrator for the current default site. If the site administrator is not the administrator of the currently selected default site, you can only configure the sites for which you have access rights.
To set the device as a template:
You can set a target device as a template for new target devices that are added in the collection. The new target device inherits the properties of the template target device, in which case the new device can be quickly added to the collection.

Automatic naming of devices:
We can set the naming rules based on the location, the collection and other information we belong to.
1. Enter a static prefix to help identify all devices that will be added to this collection. For example, Boston is used to indicate a device located in Boston.
Note: Prefixes can be used in conjunction with suffixes, but prefixes are not required if a suffix is provided. A complete device name can contain up to 15 characters (prefix length + number length + suffix length). For example, the following device name is considered a valid name:
Boston000floor2 (contains prefix, increment number length, and suffix; maximum number of characters reached 15)
Boston000 (suffix not provided)
000floor2 (prefix not supplied) prefix cannot end with a number.
2. Enter the length of the increment number that will be associated with the device added to this collection. This number is incremented for each device you add. For example, if the numbering length is set to 3,provisioning Services, the device will be named starting at 001 and will stop naming or adding devices when the number reaches 999.
Note: Enable the zero fill (0 fill) option to automatically add the required number of leading zeros to reach the number length.
For example, if the numbering length is set to 4, the first target device will be assigned a number of 0001.
The numbering length must contain a minimum of 3 digits and a maximum of 9 digits.
3. Enter a static suffix to help identify all devices that will be added to this collection. For example, Boston001floor2 can indicate the floor where these devices are located.
Suffixes can be used in conjunction with a prefix, but if a prefix is provided, the suffix is not required.
A complete device name can contain up to 15 characters (prefix length + number length + suffix length).
Suffixes cannot begin with a number.
In each collection, the combination of prefixes and suffixes must be unique.

Create a computer account
Start the client (virtual machine). From the PVS console, view the information for the device collection, and then, when the device appears, the computer account will be created in the ad Active Directory.
Through the above introduction, we can find that, compared to bulk import equipment, automatic addition of equipment this way also has its shortcomings in the location, mainly can not be set up for different sets of equipment rules, that is, if the rule is established, if you do not modify the rules, all devices will be automatically added to the same site and device collection.
