Let's take a look at the final effect chart:
I'm painting this part out of a wacom game, the theme is to design a monster about your pet. The game attracts me not only for bonuses, but also because I like to develop my own imagination, especially when it comes to character design.
In general, monsters seem cruel, scary and huge, but I want to design a lovely and friendly monster, such as a pet dog. Before I started making a lot of research, I finally decided to combine Huskies with Corgi, because Husky has a cool face (Fig. 01), Corgi looks small and cute (Figure 02), and both of these dogs are my favorite. To keep the character original and special, I made his ears into rabbit ears (Fig. 03) and added two small eyes to the forehead (Fig. 04). Some might say it looks a bit scary, but I want to add a sense of mystery. I tried to add a goldfish-like tail to make the dog more beautiful because I thought the goldfish's floating tail looked beautiful (fig. 05). For me, goldfish floating in the air is special and magical, and at that time I think this tail is very suitable for my little monster. You will find me adding a mole on the right side of the little Monster, which looks a little humorous, because it shows my own characteristics.

Another reason to design this role is that I want to paint something hairy. It's my first goal to look cute, but actually I'm going to make some work that focuses on the skills of making fur in my own work. Fur is difficult to master, and it is even more difficult to make the fur look supple and beautiful. Fur is more difficult to master than a woman's hair.
I chose to set the illumination of the picture from behind, because I think it can show the character's shape and his characteristics, especially the fur. This will also enhance the transparency of the ear. These settings are important to enhance the mood of this simple design. I added a little transparency to the tail to help strengthen the material and lighting effects. I used a kind of blue painting fur, the base color chooses a cold color, because I want to let the monster have a kind of water survival ability feeling, the color and the tail color is opposite.
In this picture I mainly use the airbrush tool to draw the pet dog, Wet brush tool drawing background. Sometimes I do some adjustments to the brushes, using blending mode, opacity, shape dynamics and other dynamics, and so on. The body of the beast I used photos of some pet dogs, merged and modified with transform and liquify tools until I got the shape I wanted. After getting the basic model of the role, I used painting and smudge tools to paint my fur.
Because the role is the focus of such a picture, I decided to focus directly on the center of the picture. I chose this position in the picture because it makes the dog look friendly. To grab the viewer's eye, I finished the background with some simple brush work and lighting, adding the reflection of the pet dog on the background to look like he was standing on the water (Figure 06). I also added some flashes, water and water droplets to his paw to strengthen the effect. Doing so makes my illustrations more alive and more interesting (fig. 07).

Overall, although I didn't get any awards in this competition, I got a lot of praise, support and encouragement from my friends, and that's enough for me. But unfortunately, because I used some real dog pictures to do this work, and because of my personal reasons, a few days before the deadline I started making. So, I want to thank all of you for your appreciation and reading!
