PS Simple steps to create snow effects on photos

Many times, want to change the mood of the picture, how to do? Then put some snow on your picture yourself! Simple steps to make your photos have another effect, let's take a look down!

First step

First open a picture, here take a log cabin as an example

Second Step

To create a new layer on top, name the tag as snow (Ctrl + Shift + Alt + N) and fill it with white (press D to the default color, then press Ctrl + BACKSPACE to fill the background color), which is used as the snow layer behind it.

Third Step

Double-click the layer snow to adjust the blend layer style, as shown in the following parameters.

Fourth Step

Add a layer mask to the layer snow, then fill the mask with black and rub the house and the surrounding trees out, as shown

Fifth Step

Create a new layer, fill it with black (press D, and then press ALT + BACKSPACE to fill the foreground color). Turn on filter > Noise > Add noise with the following parameters:

Then turn on filter > Blur > Gaussian blur, and the size of the blur determines the size of the snowflake.

Adjust the pattern of the layer to filter, and in general some snowflakes have come out.

Sixth step

But now the snowflakes don't look very good. Therefore, you can add a curve adjustment layer to solve this problem. Create a new Curve adjustment layer (Layer > new Adjustment layer > Curve) and make the graph layer work on the next layer only (press ALT and mouse over two layers to click).

Seventh Step

If the picture of the snowflakes are the same size, the sense of authenticity or almost, you can add some more large snow. Repeat steps 5 and 6, but when you use Gaussian blur, the parameters become larger (you can try 2.5 or 3).

Eighth step

Add a layer mask to the second snowflake layer (SNOWFLAKE2) (select Layer > Layer Mask > Show All). Then use the brush to erase some of the larger snowflakes.

Nineth Step

After that, to add is the next snowflake, add a bit of dynamic, first repeat steps 5 and 6 and then create some static snowflakes.

Then adjust the layer (falling snowflake) to select Filter > Blur > Motion blur.

Tenth step

To add the fitting, create a new layer (Extra Snow), adding some snow to the hut's eaves with a paintbrush.

11th Step

Finally, to create a new color balance adjustment layer, add a little cyan and blue to make the snowflakes and background tones blend together.
