Recently there are a lot of text and characters fused to the screen, through each other cascade occlusion, so that the text more three-dimensional, the picture has gained more space sense. So I think maybe Flowers can also be combined with words to form interesting pictures. This tutorial teaches you to use the mask to "embed" the text in the flowers and make a good fusion effect.
This tutorial will use a hand-painted board, are you ready?
One, find a bundle of flowers you like
Step 01
It's not so easy to find the protagonist, if you have a bouquet of flowers on your own, but if not, you need to scour the thousands of galleries. Because you want to embed text, you'd better look for a bouquet that is easily embedded in a white background, so it's easy to separate the flowers from the background. Second, your bouquet is best mirror, so you don't have to be distracted by the edges. Of course, you have a special composition and creativity is better. But the way we share today is to keep the bouquet in the center of the picture.
I chose the bouquet for me in these four photos. Although the other three flower forms are good, but the background is not ideal.
Step 02
Separate the flowers from the background. After observation that this flower is not a common choice tool or pen tool can be handled, so it is necessary to use the channel, tutorials see: "From Rookie to master!" Photoshop Pull Map All-round introduction. I think I am talking about going to the background of the operation as far as possible to save pen and ink, this is very flexible way, although we open the brain hole, do not be bound in the method I provide. The final detail background I use hand-painted board slowly processing, this may be relatively time-consuming, but this and I respect the "slow work wins" the truth is similar. I think that only the details to be exquisite, the overall effect will be brilliant.
Second, the text arrangement
Step 03
Open PS and create a new document of size 3000px*3000px. After the background is filled with white, drag the flower that you saved as a transparent background into it and place it in the middle.
Step 04
The flower is slightly dim on the white background, I use the curve to improve its brightness, but also with the color balance, increase its warm; Finally, I used a gradient map to make the color transition more natural.
Step 05
The font I use here is Robort Bold, the line of this font is very smooth, more suitable for the modelling requirements here. The font size is 450px, where each letter becomes a separate layer, and you are relatively free when arranging their position.
The color of the font I choose a slightly yellow green, my suggestion is that the font must be different from the flowers, so bold use of contrasting colors of the practice also may be. Also coincides with the theme of my English "spring".
At the same time, I added a rectangular border around the text to increase the visual weight of the text, focusing on the text.
Step 06
The layers of text and borders are organized into a group, and then the layers that copy the flowers are placed at the top. The text group is sandwiched between two flower layers, like a sandwich cookie. Add a mask to the top layer of the flower, and the mask is all filled with black, which means that the mask has little effect on the occlusion. Therefore, from the appearance, any changes have not occurred, the actual level of the Panel can see that we have made a big adjustment.
Third, the formation of occlusion relationship
Because of the powerful effect of the real experience, our vision is fully convinced that there is a deep relationship between the two objects that create occlusion, which makes the plane space more stereoscopic. Using this feature, we express the three-dimensional sense by shading parts of the text by the flowers. All of this happens on a plane, but our vision is more likely to come out.
On the top floor of the flower layer, we have added a black mask. This means that the layer is not actually displayed and is completely obscured by the black mask. If you apply a white brush to the top, you can draw the part you want it to show. I believe we all understand this principle. Using this relationship, since we want the text part "embedded" in the flower, we can "draw" the flower that the part shows in front of the text. The small details of these branches and leaves do not need to be so much that they can be easily occluded.
Step 07
To see the occlusion between the two layers, we slightly reduce the transparency of the text. Starting with the letter "s" and zooming in on the details, I painted three parts with a white brush, and the three parts made the flowers above the S. Remember, a white brush is a black mask painted on top of the top flower layer.
Use the same method to handle other letters and borders. You have to be patient with each pixel, so that the effect is not messy. The process of smearing keeps the letter recognizable. After doing well, then the transparency of the text back to normal.
