Ps+ai teach you how to create a honeycomb-colored background pattern quickly

Today we have to learn the honeycomb colorful pattern, the process is simple, and learn this method, can help you build thousands of backgrounds. Believe me, compared to the gallery to find ready-made background, hands-on production is always the lowest return rate and oneself can learn more from the way.

  First, make the background color

Here, I will use the picture I used to take the color background color of the image as a way to find the picture when it is best to find some relatively rich color pictures. Then open PS, create a new 1800px*1200px document, drag the picture into it, adjust to the appropriate size.

Use the shortcut key ctrl+j to copy the background image and change the layer name of the background layer after the copy to the fuzzy layer. According to the name of the change, you may have guessed what I was going to do. That's right! Gaussian blur of this fuzzy layer. Go to "filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur", the blur size is as large as possible, I set it to 400px.

Next, let's add a bit of noise to the layer, copy the blur layer (CTRL+J), go to filter > Noise > Add noise, and the noise number is 15%, Gaussian, and remove the monochrome. We can play the parameters of the time, carefully observe the corresponding effect changes in the future use of the filter will be more comfortable, of course, more convenient and quick.

At this point, let's change the blending mode of the noise layer to "overlay" and reduce the padding to 60%.

If the color effect is not very satisfactory, you can also use the Palette tool to continue debugging. For example, I use the brightness/contrast adjustment layer here, slightly increasing the brightness and contrast. Here because of the use of the picture is not the same, the image of the color palette is not the same way. My background color final effect is as follows:

Second, to draw the honeycomb pattern

Turn on the AI and draw the honeycomb pattern. Create a new document with the same size as the original image in Ps.

In the new document, draw the first hexagon on the canvas using the Polygon tool. For the hive, I believe we have seen many, one of nature's visual secrets is that any pattern can be combined with the most basic geometry can be drawn. For this secret, AI software should be aware of this, so only for us to prepare the basic geometry, through the corresponding combination and change we can create any image. For this, we usually need to pay attention to the nature of the visual information to us, to collect and accumulate.

Select the Polygon Graphics tool, and double-click the left mouse button on the canvas, which is the dialog box that pops up the polygon. Here you can set the size and number of sides of the polygon. Our honeycomb pattern is made up of 6 equilateral sides, so the number of edges is set to 6, and the radius here is the distance from the edge of the polygon to the center point, which I set to 30px. The padding is kept as the default white fill and a black stroke.

If we take a closer look at the pattern of the hive, we will find that the polygon that makes up the hive is different from the polygon angle I'm drawing now, and the polygon I draw is the side-length of the bottom, and the hive's pattern is the bottom of the corner. This requires a rotation of the underlying pattern. Rotation angle, according to the law of polygons, each corner angle is 60°, so now we have to rotate the corner of 60° half, namely 30°. The essence of art is science, and we can have a little experience here.

Select the graphic, click the right mouse button, right-click pop-up menu click "Rotate" in the Rotation settings panel, the rotation angle set to 30 °.

Let's fill the hive, where I'm going to use a gradient to fill it, and the strokes will remain unchanged. This color-filling method makes the final effect appear transparent. Select the graphic, and then enter the appearance of the panel. Select the gradient swatch in the fill of the skin, and then turn on the fade fill, and the gradient is set as shown in the following illustration.

Using the shortcut key Ctrl+u, open the Smart Guide, and then select the polygon, while pressing the ALT key, drag the graphic, then the Smart Guide will help you align two graphics. Put them together in a parallel arrangement. Then select the copied graphics, continue to use the shortcut key combination ctrl+d, repeat the previous action. That is, repeatedly copying and arranging new copy graphics. So we can easily get a row of neat polygons. In order to make the polygon easy to repeat the operation of the arrangement, it is best to place the first polygon in the corner of the canvas.

After grouping a whole row of polygons, copy the group and place it above it. Then continue copying this so that the polygon is covered with almost the entire canvas. Of course you can also finish the first copy, the remaining steps take the Ctrl+d shortcut key method. The prerequisite is to make sure that the first step is to align the edges of the polygon.

At this point, it already has a honeycomb style.

  Third, the fusion background color

Do a good job of the honeycomb pattern can be all grouped in AI, click CTRL + C, direct copy, and then open the first step in PS to do the background color document, directly paste Ctrl + V. Select "Smart Object" in the Paste option that pops up, click OK.

If we want to change the color for this pattern, we just need to add a color overlay layer style. For example I choose the white overlay here.

The blending mode of this pattern layer is then changed to "Color Dodge", and the opacity is reduced to 30%.

As a background to match the corresponding graphics and text, the performance of good results.

Read my example, I believe that only hands-on to this tutorial in-depth experience. Be aware of the limits that each step can explore, rather than the full reference to the instance. Try to make yourself go farther!
