Quick Setting guide for Ubuntu

Quick Setup Guide this article only applies to systems installed with i386 installation CD, part of the content is not suitable for installation of amd64 and PPC. Because there is no corresponding amd64 and PPC package in the middle subcontracting, the package cannot be found.
If you belong to such a system, please consult the forum.

 

After the installation is complete, we will spend 10 minutes setting up the system to make it a more comfortable Chinese environment.

After the installation is complete, enter, whether in Chinese or English, to create a suitable environment with me.

If you see the symbol "$", it means that you must run this command in the terminal state. (Application-> attachment-> Terminal)

"Sudo" means to run for the Super User. "sudo" requires a password "Password:". Enter your specified user password.

If you are tired of repeatedly typing "sudo", you can type "Sudo-s-h" and convert your password to a Super User.

What is sudo? Why not directly use Su to enter the root account?

1. Modify your source and upgrade it to the latest system:

   sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list
   

   In the editor, delete everything and add the following line:

   Save and close the editor

   System upgrade (if [Y/n] or [Y/n] is required, enter y and press Enter ):

   sudo apt-get updatesudo apt-get dist-upgrade
   

2. Set the local environment:

   sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales  
   

   Ensurezh_CN.UTF-8Selected, and the default local iszh_CN.UTF-8

3. Select the Chinese support environment for installation based on your installed system

   Install Chinese Language Support (UBUNTU ):

   sudo apt-get install language-pack-gnome-zh language-pack-gnome-zh-base language-pack-zh language-pack-zh-base language-support-zh
   

   Install the Chinese Language Support (kubuntu )):

   sudo apt-get install language-pack-kde-zh language-pack-kde-zh-base language-pack-zh language-pack-zh-base language-support-zh
   

4. Install the Chinese font (if [Y/n] or [Y/n] is required, enter y and press Enter ):

   sudo apt-get install ttf-arphic-ukai ttf-arphic-uming

   If you want to display better Chinese characters, we recommend that you use ry.

5. Install the input method. you can install either of the following methods in scim and fcitx.

   • Scim:

     sudo apt-get install scim scim-modules-socket scim-modules-table scim-pinyin scim-tables-zh scim-input-pad sudo sh -c " echo 'export XMODIFIERS=@im=SCIM ; export GTK_IM_MODULE="scim" ; scim -d ' > /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95xinput "sudo chmod +755 /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95xinput

   • Fcitx:

     sudo apt-get install fcitxsudo sh -c " echo 'export XMODIFIERS=@im=fcitx ; export GTK_IM_MODULE="fcitx" ; fcitx ' > /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95xinput "sudo chmod +755 /etc/X11/Xsession.d/95xinput

6. Set lc_all and other attributes:

   sudo gedit /etc/environment
   

   • In the editor, modify the content as follows (the Chinese interface is used by default ):

     LANGUAGE="zh_CN:zh:en_US:en"
     LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8
     LANG=zh_CN.UTF-8
     GST_ID3_TAG_ENCODING=GBK
     

   • To use the English interface, modify the content as follows:

     LANGUAGE="en_US:en"
     LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8
     LANG=en_GB.UTF-8
     GST_ID3_TAG_ENCODING=GBK
     

   Save and close the editor

   Okay. log out of your computer. (System-> logout) at this time, the input method (CTRL + SpaceKey activation Input Method) should be available, and the entire interface is Chinese.

7. Further settings:

   Install the Java environment (if [Y/n] or [Y/n] is required, enter y and press Enter ):

   sudo apt-get install sun-j2re1.5
   sudo ln -sf /usr/lib/j2re1.5-sun/bin/java /usr/bin/java

   Install QQ:

   1. wget -c http://download.ubuntu.org.cn/software/lumaqq_2005-linux_gtk2_x86_no_jre.tar.gzsudo tar zxvf lumaqq_2005-linux_gtk2_x86_no_jre.tar.gz -C /opt/wget -c http://download.ubuntu.org.cn/software/lumaqq_2005_patch_2006.01.30.02.00.zipsudo unzip -o lumaqq_2005_patch_2006.01.30.02.00.zip -d /opt/LumaQQ/libsudo chown -R root:root /opt/LumaQQ/sudo chmod -R 755 /opt/LumaQQ/sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/LumaQQ.desktop

   2. Add the following lines to the new file:

      [Desktop Entry]
      Name=LumaQQ
      Comment=QQ Client
      Exec=/opt/LumaQQ/lumaqq
      Icon=/opt/LumaQQ/QQ.png
      Terminal=false
      Type=Application
      Categories=Application;Network;

   3. Save edited files

       

      After the installation is complete, go to (Application> internat> lumaqq ).

8. Install a better multimedia player Driver (if [Y/n] or [Y/n] is required, enter y and press Enter ):

   sudo apt-get install beep-media-player totem-xine w32codecs gstreamer0.8-plugins

   In actual use, change all sound output to ESD output. If you do not know how to modify it, you can also refer to how to mix it.

9. Install the English-Chinese dictionary (if [Y/n] or [Y/n] is required, enter y and press Enter ):

   sudo apt-get install stardict stardict-common stardict-cdict-gb stardict-cedict-gb stardict-hanzim stardict-langdao-ce-gb stardict-langdao-ec-gb stardict-oxford-gb stardict-xdict-ce-gb stardict-xdict-ec-gb
   

   After the installation is complete, go to (Application> attachment> interstellar translation King)

10. Install the Flash Support of the browser:

    sudo apt-get install flashplayer-mozilla

    After the installation is complete, Firefox will support flash.

11. Install the btsoftware (if [Y/n] or [Y/n] is required, enter y and press Enter ):

    sudo apt-get install azureus

    After the installation is complete, go to (Application> Internet> Azureus)

12. Advanced Settings:

    Upgrade your kernel to make the system faster. If your computer is an Inter chip, run the following command:

    sudo apt-get install linux-686
    

    If it is an AMD chip, use:

    sudo apt-get install linux-k7
