We can connect to a remote computer via VNC (Virtual Network Computing) and Remote Desktop, but there are some differences between the two.
Vnc
VNC uses the RFB protocol to do screen sharing and remote operation software, developed by the prestigious at-T European Research Laboratory. Use with client software and server software.
Remote Desktop
Remote Desktop uses the RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) remoting protocol, and most Windows supports this protocol by default, enabling remote access to the operating desktop.
RFB and RDP differences
RFB passes the image to the client after the server has drawn the window in memory and the client acts as an image decoding display, and RDP gives the work to the client, and the server needs to understand the specifics of the client's display capabilities in order to make the appropriate adjustments.
RfB primarily passes images, and RDP mainly commands. For general applications, the RfB data volume is too large and RDP is high on the client, so RfB is suitable for thin clients and RDP is suitable for low-speed networks.
