Computer has been a dual system, WINDOWS8 + Ubuntu13.04, yesterday blind, updated a bit of QT, the results will not boot up ... Really hard.
The old system is bad, just can put a ubuntu14.04lts. There is no USB flash drive, you can put the ISO into the Windows partition, from the hard disk installation.
Make a note of the steps to prepare for the next failure to boot:
1. Download the Ubuntu CD image and put it into the Windows partition, for example I put it into the C packing directory and renamed to Ubuntu.iso. Need to explain, before installing to see a down to the first partition, my Windows has 300M of hidden partition, so my C disk is the second partition.
2, reboot into grub, press ' C ' key to enter command mode.
3, enter commands in sequence
Grub> Loopback Loop (hd0,2)/ubuntu.iso
Grub> set root= (Loop)
Grub> Linux (Loop)/casper/vmlinuz.efi Boot=casper Iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu.iso
Grub> initrd (Loop)/casper/initrd.lz
grub> Boot
The first line of the command needs to be noted: (hd0,2) Specifies the 1th hard disk 2nd partition, which is my C drive, the hard disk is counted from 0, and the partition is counted starting from 1. The third and fourth line commands need to be noted: (Loop)/casper/vmlinuz.efi and (loop)/casper/initrd.lz These two file extensions are not necessarily the same as me, different versions have a certain difference, it is recommended to enter a portion of the TAB key to automatically complete the file name.
4, wait for the restart, and then automatically enter the Ubuntu installation screen. Execute the command "sudo umount-l/isodevice" To uninstall Isodevice, otherwise there will be partitioning issues.
5. Double-click Install Ubuntu on the desktop to start the installation. I was ready to partition myself when I installed it, and I chose "Uninstall the old version of Ubuntu reinstall". Because I used to be 32, now I'm going to be in the 64-bit.
Re-install Ubuntu with GRUB HDD
