Red Hat Linux (Red Hat) is a Linux desktop system, and the most used in red Hat is the KDE and GNOME two desktop environments, which are installed by default gnome. If you don't have a KDE package installed on the system, then let's see how to install it after installing the system.
Desktop switching
After you install Red Hat and start your computer, you are entering the GNOME desktop environment. After login, click "Start" → "System settings" → "package", then in the "Package management" window we can see that there are KDE items. If the KDE item is installed then the display is "58/58" and if it is not installed, then the option is "0/58". Click on this number to select all the options in the selection window that appears and then click "Apply" and the system will tell you to put the Red Hat installation disk on and then start the installation.
When the installation is complete, the next time you enter the system, click on the "session" in the following window to see more than one graphics environment, these graphics environment can be selected. Here, select KDE and then click "OK" to enter the KDE graphics environment. If you want to return to the GNOME graphics environment, you can click "Session" After logging off, select "Gnome" and click "OK".
User Management
No matter which graphics environment you log into, you must have a user account, which is the same when you log in to these desktop environments. Let's take a look at how to create a user account and modify the root password after installing Red Hat.
Click "Start" → "System settings" → "Users and Groups". The Administration window for users and groups will then appear. Then click the Add User button, in the following "Create New User" window, enter the username, account user's full name and password. So it's done. Of course, don't forget to add it to the appropriate group.
If you want to change the root password, click "Start" → "System settings" → "root password." Enter a new password in the Settings window that appears, and click OK.
