RedHat adopts new email enhancement software

Red Hat, the largest Linux operating system distributor, adopted Novell, a rival company that has recently opened Source codeE-Mail enhancement software released in the form.

This action shows the advantages and disadvantages of open source software in the commercial field. But on the other hand, it also makes it more difficult for a company to maintain a competitive advantage.

Red Hat spokesman David day said on Thursday that Enterprise Linux's new version is scheduled to be released in September this year.

The new version will also support IBM's new power5 servers and provide new security features.

One of the security changes is to support the unexecuted (nx) feature of the new intel and AMD processors, that is, to mark some areas in the computer's note body as "not executed ", malicious programs cannot intrude into executable programs.

Other security functions include ExecShield, a mechanism to prevent some parts of the memory from being stored in executable programs, and the so-called position independent executable (PIE ), allows computers to store information in randomly selected locations, making it difficult for attackers to find predictable patterns to launch attacks.
