Remove a custom mirror

If you no longer need a custom mirror, you can delete it. To ensure that you can delete the success, verify that no ECS instances are currently created using this custom mirror.

The operation is as follows:

Log on to the Cloud Server Management Console.

Click a mirror in the left navigation. You can see a mirrored list.

Select the area at the top of the page.

Select the mirror you want to remove. The mirror type must be a custom mirror and click Delete.

In the dialog box that pops up, click Confirm.

Delete error Handling

When you delete a custom mirror, you are prompted with the following error:

"The specified mirror ID also has a hold instance and cannot be deleted"

This is because there are ECS instances that are using the custom mirror, causing the deletion to be impossible. You can see which instances use the mirror by mirroring > Related instances.

If you are sure that you want to remove the mirror, you will need to replace the system disk and replace the system disks of those instances before you can remove the mirror.
