This paper first introduces the background and research status of the project, then introduces the scheme selection and design process. The design process includes the license plate Recognition Program, the Guide program design, the kernel-driven and the file system design. In the license plate recognition program, the location algorithm combining edge detection and support vector machine is adopted, and the character recognition is based on neural network recognition algorithm. The development mode and autonomous mode boot program based on ARM processor s3c2440 are realized in the boot program design. Linux-based USB download drivers and embedded Linux kernel image cropping are implemented in the kernel-driven design. In the file system design, the license plate recognition program based on OPENCV and CGI, Boa Server, and the NFS root file system and YAFFS2 root file system were made.
