How do I use serv-u to limit the types of files that users upload?

The use of serv-u can not only restrict the user's read, write, delete and other permissions, but also according to the file type restrictions.
Case: Restrict users to upload only. gif,. jpg, and. bmp types files.
The specific implementation steps are described below.
(1) Create a new user Benet in Serv-u, navigate to the Directory Access tab, click the Add button, and in the Directory Access Rules window, set the user's access rights to the. gif type file. Enter "*.gif" in the "Path" field, and the permissions are set to read, write, and then click the "Save" button, shown in 5.1.

(2) Follow the above method to add the user to the. jpg and. bmp file read, write permissions, set to complete 5.2.

(3) Continue to click the Add button in Figure 5.2, set the user's access to other types of files in the Directory Access Rules window to read-only, and then click the Save button, as shown in 5.3.

(4) Click the Add button in Figure 5.2 again to set the user's access rights to their home directory as read-only in the Directory Access Rules window, as shown in user rights access rule 5.4 after adding, click the Save button to save.

To access the FTP server on the client computer, users can successfully upload. gif,. jpg, and. bmp file types, and when users upload. doc or other type of file, they are prompted with the error message shown in 5.5.

Reopen the Directory Access tab of the user's properties, select a rule, and on the right side of the window you can adjust the priority of its rules by the up or down buttons. To ensure that user permissions are applied correctly, you need to place the rules for the file types on the rules of the home directory.
