RHEL 6.3 Pure command line text interface install desktop

I. Configuring the Yum Local Installation Source:

Su-root

Mkdir/mnt/cdrom

Mount-t Iso9660/dev/sr0/mnt/cdrom

Cd/etc/yum.repos.d

To see if the directory has a. Repo suffix file, and no to create a. repo file with a random filename.

VI Local.repo

[Local]

Name=local

Baseurl=file:///mnt/cdrom

Enable=1

Gpgcheck=0

Save exit

Yum Clean All

Two. Install the default system desktop (suitable for installing the system without selecting the desktop installation)

1. Installation Table Bread

Yum Groupinstall "X Window System"

Yum Groupinstall "Desktop"

2. Start Desktop

Init 5

3. Change startup mode

Vi/etc/inittab

# System initialization is started by/etc/init/rcs.conf

# individual runlevels are started by/etc/init/rc.conf

#

# Ctrl-alt-delete is handled by/etc/init/control-alt-delete.conf

# Terminal Gettys are handled by/etc/init/tty.conf and/etc/init/serial.conf,

Change 3 of the above red Word to 5 3 for command line interface 5 for X Window graphics interface

4. Install Desktop right key terminal:

Yum Install nautilus-open-terminal
