It should start from R/3 (to be verified). The bottom layer of SAP has formed an application platform based on ABAP. there are unified data design solutions (DDIC), interface design solutions, development processes, version control, database connection, process management, shared memory management, transaction management, and so on. it provides reliable technical support for business application writing.

Simply put, R/3 is a database-based simple application server based on ABAP virtual machines and processes (through share memory communication between processes. At that time, it was an extremely advanced architecture. Only such an architecture is possible for enterprise-level applications that can be flexibly transformed and efficiently managed.

When NetWeaver appears, SAPBasis is transformed to ABAP Application server in NetWeaver.

 

Mysap(Mysap.com)

September 1999, CEO Haso. pratner announced the strategy of "open and integrated" mySAP.com. rebuild the technical architecture and direction, unify and integrate the original system, and launch the mySAP collaborative E-commerce solution.

At that time, the background was that the Internet technology tends to mature and popularize, and the communication and flexibility between independent applications become very prominent. The development of industry technology makes open interfaces and integrated products a consensus. Therefore, SAP decided to provide a customizable, highly integrated and open system.

Today, mysap is based on NetWeaver, because sapbasis has been transformed into a part of NetWeaver. NetWeaver is the next-generation technology platform of SAP.
