1. Start the Certificate Authority tool from the Administrative Tools program group.
2. Expand your certificate authority and select the "pending applications" folder.
3. Select the certificate application you just submitted.
4. In the "operations" menu, point to "all tasks" and click "issue ".
5. confirm that the certificate is displayed in the issued certificate folder, and double-click to view it.
6. On the Details tab, click Copy to file to save the certificate as a Base-64 encoded X.509 Certificate.
7. Close the certificate Properties window.
8. Disable the Certificate Authority tool.

 


Install certificates on Web Servers
This process installs the certificate issued during the previous process on the Web server.

Install certificates on Web Servers
1. If Internet Information Service is not running, start it.
2. Expand your server name and select the Web site where you want to install the certificate.
3. Right-click the Web site and click "properties ".
4. Click the "Directory Security" tab.
5. Click server certificate to start the Web server certificate wizard.
6. Click "process pending applications and install Certificates", and then click "Next ".
7. Enter the path and file name of the file containing the CA response, and click "Next ".
8. Check the certificate overview, click "Next", and then click "finish ".
Now, the certificate has been installed on the Web server.

Configure resources to require SSL access
In this process, use the Internet Service Manager to configure the virtual directory to require SSL access. You can use SSL for specific files, directories, or virtual directories. The client must use HTTPS to access all such resources.

1. If Internet Information Service is not running, start it.
2. Expand your server name and Web site. (This must be a Web site with a certificate installed)
3. Right-click a virtual directory and click "properties ".
4. Click the "Directory Security" tab.
5. Click "edit" under "Secure Communication ".
6. Click require secure channel (SSL )".
Now the client must use HTTPS to browse to this virtual directory.
7. Click "OK" and then click "OK" again to close the "properties" dialog box.
8. Disable Internet Information Service.
