All ledgers in a ledger set must share the same combination of the subject and accounting calendar/period types. Therefore, a ledger set cannot be used in the case of different subject regions. Different responsibilities must be used to access each set of accounts.
Follow these steps:

1. Define the set of books and complete the subject settings:

-Define a category ing to match the category of the Primary and Secondary categories.

-Define the main ledger in the accounting subject settings.
-Define secondary ledgers in the same accounting subject settings. This is because the secondary ledger uses a different category to specify the category ing.
When the accounting subject settings are complete, the general ledger accounting subject setup program is triggered.
This program automatically creates a data access permission set for each account and Report currency (the journal layer or subledger layer) and assigns it to this accounting subject setting.
The system provides full read and write access to the account book, balanced segment value, and management segment value for the data access permission set generated for each account and Report currency. If you need more data access permissions, you can create them manually.

2. to associate a data access permission set with a role, you must assign a data access permission set to the 'Gl: data access permission set 'configuration file option. <Internal only must assign a data access permission set to the configuration file option 'Gl: data access permission set '>

Set the configuration file GL: data access permission set:
-In the responsibility layer, if a role needs to access the primary ledger, set the data access permission set for the primary ledger.
-In the responsibility layer, if a role needs to access the secondary ledger, set the data access permission set for the secondary ledger.

The responsibilities of the secondary ledger will be used for execution, such as opening the accounting period, account query, and so on. Data transmission from the primary ledger to the secondary ledger is processed by applications, depending on the type of your secondary ledger. Therefore, in most cases, when you perform transaction processing on the primary ledger, they will be sent to the secondary ledger (similar to MRC's work in earlier versions ).
View the Oracle financial implementation manual for the four types of secondary ledgers:
? Secondary ledgers at the subledger layer-use the subledger and general ledger posting procedures for maintenance.
? Secondary ledger at the Journal layer-only maintained using the general ledger posting program. each time you post a journal in the main ledger, the same journal is automatically copied and maintained in the secondary ledger, which relies on the defined rules for conversion of journals in the secondary ledger.
? The balance-Layer Secondary Ledger-General Ledger Merge function is used to transfer the balance from the primary ledger to the secondary ledger.
? Only secondary ledger adjustment-adjustment can be manually input to secondary ledger or automatically created from subledger.
