Set the default editor under Ubuntu

By default, the Ubuntu system will preset the program for the user. Just take the text editor, Ubuntu presets The Nano, and for some friends, using Vim may be more handy. So how do you change these pre-programmed programs?

You can use the sudo update-alternatives--config Editor command to change the default text editor. In my system, after executing the command, the output is as follows:

Selection Alternative
-----------------------
1/usr/bin/vim
2/bin/ed
*+ 3/bin/nano

Follow the prompts to change the current default Nano to Vim by entering the number 1.

In fact, the update-alternatives command can also configure pre-programmed programs such as FTP, Telnet, rsh, and so on. More you can view the/etc/alternatives directory
