Show Hidden Files in Finder
Many Mac users know that Mac OS X is based on FreeBSD (UNIX. However, we found that many UNIX files and directories, such as/etc,/var, And/bin, were not found. In fact, these files and directories are all hidden by the system. One of Mac's design principles is that what you don't need to see or what you don't want to see will not be displayed to you. If you need to access or modify these files, you can only use the "terminal" and access the files through Unix commands. However, after all, it is not as convenient to use the finder through the "terminal". Today's tips will show you how to display these hidden files in the finder.
Open the terminal and enter the following command:
Defaults write com. Apple. Finder appleshowallfiles-bool true
Killall Finder
Then, open the finder. Wow, there are a lot of hidden files.
However, since these hidden files are basically some system files, we recommend that you modify the files only with confidence. In addition, it is best to disable this option at ordinary times, so that the finder is clean and can avoid misoperation. The method for hiding these files again is the same as above. You only need to change true to false.
Defaults write com. Apple. Finder appleshowallfiles-bool false
Killall Finder
