Summary:

The display of the carrier name on the mobile phone can be used as a carrier's brand promotion means. In particular, the number of virtual operators is increasing. Many virtual operators do not want to have partners, but also the names of their competitors. In this case, you need a detailed description of how the mobile phone determines what content to display. This article makes some exploration based on various specifications.

Overview:

According to ts 22.101, when the mobile phone displays the carrier information, there are three options in total, with priorities sorted from high to low.

1. plmn and PNN contents stored in the (u) SIM card. The specific content displayed depends on the settings of the SPNs file and the current login network. 2. Data in the network delivery mm 3. plmn preset during me manufacturing and corresponding display name

1. ef_6f46_spn

If this file does not exist in the card, replace the content of the maid or eplmn with the first record of 6fc5.

If this file exists, bytes 1-7 indicates plmn, and byte 8 indicates the corresponding full name/short name.

Others

Two new files, ef_6fde_spni and ef_6fdf_pnni, are added. Icon display is supported.

 

Example

Q: if there is a virtual carrier, it uses its own network (MCC = 123, MNC = 01) in province X of its own country and rents the network of another operator elsewhere. Lease mnoy (MCC = 123, MNC = 02) networks in province y, and lease mnoz networks in province Z (MCC = 123, MNC = 03 ). 1. set the first byte of the SPNs to 002. put plmn y (MCC = 123, MNC = 02) in the ef_6fcd_spdi file 3. store mvno a + 4 in ef_6fc5_pnn. put plmn Z (MCC = 123, MNC = 03) into ef_6fc6_opl, and point to the corresponding records of the PNN file. Reference specifications:
