Siphon ink Bulk processing text common operations

The text file is the most common file format and almost everyone has to deal with it every day. Ordinary text editor, only simple text editing operations, but in fact, in addition to text processing, often we also need to text file segmentation, batch renaming, file encryption, text calculation and so on, often need to enable multiple Third-party software. Today is introduced to you an advanced text editor-siphon ink, it in addition to the basic word processing, common text file processing work can also be completed.

Installation Settings Siphon ink considerations

We can download the "Siphon Ink" green version from the website Nullice.com/gasoft/siphonink, after decompression, double-click the only executable file to run (all its settings and related content are saved in the decompression folder). If you are using a Windows 8/8.1 or Windows 10 operating system, a prompt window appears when you run the software for the first time, requiring the user to install DirectPlay. Clicking the "Install this feature" button in the prompt window automatically downloads the feature module from the Internet.

Small tip:

If the DirectPlay Installation prompt window does not appear, it should be due to an incomplete DirectX feature on the current system, at which point you can try the DirectX Repair tool to fix it.

When the DirectPlay function module is installed, the "siphon ink" software can be successfully run. This time will pop up a window again, ask the user to set the common parameters of the software. We can set according to their own needs, such as in the "personalized information" inside the setting of personal information, set up after the click "OK" button (Figure 1). If the user needs to reset the settings later, click the "Settings" button in the Software toolbar to call again.

Batch extract file name or Web page link

Sometimes when working with files, we need to export the file name information in a given directory. The most common way to do this is through the dir command in the command Prompt window. However, such operations for ordinary users is more complex, and the use of siphon ink editor can be quickly implemented.

First click on the Editor toolbar in the "Edit tool" button, in the pop-up menu, click the "File" button, which will pop up a file Operation window. Next switch to the folder you want to export the file name, select the file you want to export, drag to the Siphon Ink File Operation window, release the mouse button, then you can see all the file names in the window. Then click the "Export text" button to export the file name to the editor window (Figure 2). Then click the "Save" button in the toolbar to quickly save the file name information for the specified directory. If you want to export the full path of the file, select the full path entry in the File Actions window.

Small tip:

In the page after the bulk selection of page links, drag them to the editor window to release, you can be a lot of page links extracted. This is useful for bulk downloading of web pages and files (Figure 3).

Bulk Replace multiple file contents

Sometimes when editing a file, there may be some professional terminology input errors, and perhaps after editing more than one file. At this point, if a file to open the modification of a file is very cumbersome, and the siphon ink editor, you can batch multiple files to be processed at once (the normal editor can only replace one file at a time).

Click on the "Extended Function Library" button in the top right-hand corner of the siphon ink, click on the "File batch" item in the list on the left side of the pop-up window, and then click on the "Open" button on the right side of the window to enable this feature (Figure 4). Through the mouse will need to bulk replace the file, drag and drop to open the File batch processing window inside. Then click the "Replace" tab in the right window to enter what you want to replace at the top of the window, and then enter what you want to replace at the bottom of the window. If you need to have more than one phrase to replace it, just enter a phrase on each line (Figure 5). Finally, click on the "Execute Action" button, you can be a batch of the phrase to replace the operation.

Merging and splitting text files

The merging and splitting of text files is a very common operation. But such a simple operation, in addition to manual operation, it is necessary to use the help of professional tools to operate. But now you can do this quickly by using the other commands in the siphon ink file batch process. First through the mouse will need to merge the file, dragged to the "File batch processing" window. Then select a file in the file list to adjust the order of the files through the "Move Up" or "Move Down" command in the right-click menu. Then click the "Merge" tab in the right window and select the "merge as one text" item in the window. The merge of these files can be done by setting up a merged file save directory and clicking the "Perform Action" button (Figure 6). In addition, through the "Split" tab, you can also split the text file by row, by size, by number of copies.

Conversion of bulk text encoding

Sometimes we share files with others, but when we open the file, we find that it is garbled, which means that different user systems use the same coding. Such a problem can be handled very simply by simply converting its contents to the correct encoding.

This time in siphon ink, in the Extended Feature Gallery window, locate the text Encoding preview item in the list on the left, and the Text Encoding preview window appears when you open it. Then select the file that you want to encode the conversion to, and drag it over to the top of the window to release it. A moment's wait will appear in the window list, with each file displayed in the ANSI, UTF-8, Unicode, Unicode be encoded display. And we just need to pass whether it is garbled, we can determine the real encoding of the file. As shown in Figure 7, only the ANSI display is not garbled, it means that the file is done with ANSI encoding, so just click the "Convert to ANSI" button can be encoded conversion (Figure 7). For security reasons, however, it is recommended that the Safe Mode option be selected in the upper-right corner.

Small tip:

If you need to convert Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese, then first open the file through the editor, then click the "Code Conversion" option in the list on the left of the Extended Function Library window and select the form of conversion in the list of pop-up windows, such as "BIG5 (→GBK)" (Figure 8). Click the "Convert" button.

Call other tools quickly

Microsoft has canceled the system's Start menu since the Windows 8 system was released. It's a hassle to use a calculator and so on, but now you can call it quickly with siphon ink. You can see calculators, command prompts, registry editors, and so on in the external plugins list on the left side of the Extended Feature Gallery window. Right-click on the external plugins item, select the "plugin name" and "File path" options after selecting the "New plugin" command, and click "OK" to create a new startup tool (Figure 9), which facilitates our personalized program invocation.
