■ Data loss: Remedies

What data can be saved? There are two main types of data problems: logical problems and hardware problems. The corresponding recovery is also called software recovery and hardware recovery. Software recovery refers to data repair through software. The whole process does not involve hardware repair. Data loss is often caused by virus infection, formatting, partitioning, cloning, deletion, and power failure.
  
Software faults are characterized by failure in accessing the operating system, file reading, file opening, file loss, partition loss, and garbled display. In fact, the cause of software data loss is very complex, and each situation has a specific symptom, or multiple symptoms at the same time. In general, as long as the data zone is not completely covered, individual users can basically recover smoothly through some specific software.

Take the most common delete operation as an example. In fact, the files stored on the hard disk are not completely overwritten. through some specific software methods, you can follow the main boot area, partition, DBR, fat, finally, the order of file entity recovery should be solved. Of course, we should also objectively admit that, although software-based data recovery has a lot of detailed skills and hard-to-Express experience, however, there is indeed a situation where the existing software recovery technology is powerless. If the data in the hard disk is completely overwritten or partially overwritten multiple times, it is likely that no software can be used to fix the problem.

■ A sudden power failure upon startup. The system cannot be found after restart

I believe many of my friends have encountered this situation. When we use a computer, we suddenly lose power. When we reboot, we can detect the hard disk, but cannot access the system, or prompt "disk boot failure, insert into en disk and press ENTER ".

In this case, the primary boot zone of the hard disk is usually faulty. In fact, it takes only a few minutes to complete the operation. Such faults account for more than 30% of the total software faults. Therefore, it is an effective solution to these problems. In addition, if the system prompts "Miss Operation System" after self-check is started and the complete content of drive C can be seen under DOS, this is also a fault in the Main Boot zone.

For such software faults, we can completely solve them by ourselves. You can use a floppy disk to start the system. Then, type "C:" to check whether the disk C can be read. This situation is complicated. Depending on the damage degree in the primary boot area, whether the drive C can be read is unknown. If the data in disk C can be read, you can use the fdisk/MBR command to unconditionally rewrite the Master Boot zone and retain the original data. It is worth noting that the system does not respond when running the fdisk/MBR command, but it actually plays a role because the data volume of the hard disk partition table is small and the write time is almost invisible.

Of course, even if the drive C cannot be read, we can use the fdisk/MBR command. In fact, fdisk/MBR has a very obvious role. It can also deal with some primary boot zone viruses, which can be well utilized by everyone, this is the first tool that can be identified by hard disks in the bios and cannot be operated under DOS. Apart from this hidden parameter of fdisk, you can also use the DOS tool fixmbr. After the file is directly executed in DOS, the system will automatically check the partition table structure. After user confirmation, it will start to automatically repair. Compared with the fdisk/MBR command, fixmbr has better results. Many fdisk/MBR commands can easily solve the primary boot zone problems that cannot be solved.

■ Use PQ magic to merge partitions, causing file loss

Fault: the hard disk space allocation is unreasonable. The partition software is used to create a new partition or merge the partitions, leading to file loss or failure to open.

This type of fault is generally caused by Partition Table errors. Partition Table faults are also common in various software faults. We recommend that you use diskgenius software made in China. The software can run directly in a pure DOS environment and uses an intuitive Chinese interface. Therefore, it is the best choice for users with poor English.

Copy the diskgenius software to the DOS boot disk and run it directly. after entering the main interface of diskgenius, press F10 to automatically restore the hard disk partition table. This operation is very effective. Diskgenius will first search for the hidden sector of the 0-cylindrical 0 head starting from the 2-sector, to find the migrated partition table. Then, search for the first sector of each head. The search process can be performed in two ways: "automatic" and "interaction.

The automatic method is applicable to most cases. We recommend that you select this method. Through the above repair of the primary boot area and partition table, you can make a hard disk that has suffered severe damage to view the partition correctly in windows, thus laying a solid foundation for other operations.

Manual repair: in some cases, any software may not be able to find the backup partition table. In this case, you can only manually modify it. Manual modification will allow you to directly operate partition table data in software such as winhex. Use winhex to open the disk. Among them, the DPT hard disk partition table from "80" to "55aa" is critical. The hard disk partition table we show here is in good condition and therefore does not need to be modified.

However, for a partitioned table that has been damaged, its end position may be completely disordered. At this time, you can determine it by looking for the next "55aa" mark, because the start position of the next partition goes forward, a sector is the end position of the previous partition. Based on the obtained head, slice, and cylinder numbers, convert them into hexadecimal notation, and then use winhex to write back. In addition, there may be many interference items in the process of searching for the next "55aa". It is recommended to judge based on the capacity of the hard disk partition. The entire process of hand-writing partitioned table recovery requires a lot of practical experience. You can further study it.

■ The partition cannot be opened, and the message "This partition is not formatted" is displayed"

Fault: When a drive letter cannot be opened during normal use, the system prompts "This partition is not formatted"

There is no doubt that direct re-formatting can solve the problem, so if there is no important file information in this partition, xiaobian strongly recommends that you directly format the hard disk, which is simple, however, if there are important files that cannot be lost, there is a shortcut here, but not always effective. You can find another computer, use a bad hard disk as a slave disk on that computer. after entering the system, check whether the disk can be opened. If not, we will use winhex to rewrite the DBR template.

We recommend that you attach a faulty hard disk as a slave disk. Then you can directly open winhex and select the hard disk instead of partitions. In this way, you can use the partition table information in the hard disk to process partitions, thus cleverly bypassing the DRB information. The next task is very simple. Select the partition for the DBR fault in the "access" drop-down list in the upper right corner, and then open the "Start sector template ". Note that for FAT32 and NTFS partitions, the standard templates are different. Select again if you are correct.

■ Hard disk cannot be started due to zero track damage

For a disk, zero track is the most critical, because the partition table information of the hard disk is in it. Once the zero track is damaged, the hard disk cannot be started. In fact, zero track damage is only a special case of physical bad track. The difference is that the damage is very sensitive.

Here we recommend a disk access tool named efficiency source. It is a commonly used software for dealing with bad sectors. It features the ability to replicate sectors. Take an 80 GB hard disk as an example. If we already know that the required data is in the last partition and the capacity of the last partition is 20 GB, in the efficiency source software, the starting replication sector is directly located at about 70%, and the ending position is the final. In this way, the previous part will be avoided during the replication process.

In many cases, physical bad channels appear consecutively, and the data we need may not be stored on dangerous bad channels. However, the operating system has a special hard disk reading process. Once a large number of bad channels exist, Hard Disk Partitions may not be identified. With the efficiency source software, you can easily break through these restrictions, and the software itself has powerful replication functions and corresponding validation algorithms.

■ Incorrectly formatted or cloned partitions

When we find that the file is lost, the file is overwritten by the same name, or even the partition is incorrectly formatted or cloned, we need to use the disk scan method to recover the data.

File loss caused by misoperations is very common in software data recovery. When some data is deleted from the disk, the deleted data is only overwritten, the data is not actually deleted. However, if the data is written again, it does not necessarily overwrite the deleted data immediately. Therefore, you can use the disk scan method to restore the data. However, once the data is overwritten by other data, it is difficult to completely restore the deleted data.

We recommend that you use easy recovery and final data. Since easy recovery and final data have a unique set of solutions for faults such as partition tables, they can automatically scan files in a specific way. Therefore, when combined, they can often bring surprises.

Therefore, in order to improve the data repair rate, do not perform new read/write operations on the partition or hard disk to be repaired. If the partition to be repaired is the system boot partition, You need to immediately exit the system, start it with another hard disk, and then reply with the software.
