1. How to create a different header in the same document
Sometimes in a Word document, you need to display different headers on different pages, how can you implement this feature? The specific action method is as follows: First, follow the normal method of adding a unified header to the document, and then move the cursor to the text where you want to display the different headers. Click the Insert menu, select the Separator option, pop the Separator dialog box, select a section break in the Separator type column, select the next page single option, and click OK.
Now that the text has been divided into two sections, position the mouse over the following section of text. The header and Footer floating toolbar appears when you open the View menu and select the Headers and footers option. Click the link to Previous button in the Header and Page Corners toolbar to cancel the button's action, as shown in Figure 1. At this point, you can modify the page on the second page individually.

Small note: In Word2002, the link to Previous button has the same name as "previous". The settings for different footers are the same as for different headers.
2. How to remove the horizontal line in the header
When you insert a header in a Word document, a black horizontal line usually appears below the header text, as shown in Figure 2.

You can remove the horizontal line by double-clicking the text at the header with the mouse, so that the header is editable. Open the Format menu, select the Borders and Shading dialog box, on the Borders tab, in the Settings column, select None and select paragraph from the Drop-down list for the apply to item in the lower-right corner of the dialog box, and click OK, as shown in the settings (Figure 3).

Click the Close button on the header and Footer floating toolbar to return to normal editing to see that the horizontal line below the header text is gone.
