Solution for garbled Chinese Characters in vmvm of Red Hat linux.5.5 Enterprise Edition

Running environment:VMware Workstation 7.1.2 build-301548 Virtual Machine
System image:Red Hat linux.5.5.for. x86. Server Edition. rhel-server-5.5-i386-dvd.iso
Running symptoms:After the vmvm is started and the Linux image is loaded, the vmvm automatically installs Linux without manual operations. The installation process is in full English. After installation, the system is automatically started, which is also an English interface.
Symptom cause:Because of the intelligent and automatic installation of VMware, almost all settings, such as language selection, software customization, and partitioning, will not appear during system installation. The system will be completely installed automatically. However, this installation system does not display Chinese characters and does not have a Chinese input method. In this way, only the most basic and core things are installed.
Solution:Click "System"-"Administration"-"language"-"Chinese (P. R of China), click OK and restart. After the result is restarted, the system is all garbled!

I checked it online and found that the Chinese character bag was not installed. The installation method is as follows: load the Linux image package on the VM: click "cpmputer"-"Optical Drive"-"server"-double-click to install "fonts-chinese-3.02-12.e15.noarch.rpm"-restart and then reset the language!

 

Note:If there is no DVD drive icon on the desktop, enable it as follows:

Toolbar --> VM --> Settings --> CD/DVD (IDE)

 

 

Next, the DVD icon is displayed on the desktop.
