Requirement Description
Deploy a data access network in a residential area to provide data access services at the initial stage. At the same time, it prepares for IPTV. When the time is ripe, it provides IPTV services to customers and high-quality network services. A total of 248 buildings, including 690 residential units, were built in seven standard sections in the residential area, with a total of 9108 households.
There are also several commercial, school, and government buildings. In the initial stage, we will first provide broadband Internet services for users. In the later stage, we will need to carry out IPTV, VoIP and other value-added data services. This plan mainly takes into account the access of households, and the commercial, school, and institution will be adjusted based on actual conditions in the future. This network can provide sufficient bandwidth for high-quality data access services and IPTV streaming media services. Networks must have excellent scalability and upgrade capabilities to effectively support the three-in-one business needs in the future.
Services supported by the optical fiber access network include:
◆ Internet access: Provides normal Internet access to ensure sufficient bandwidth for browsing pages, uploading and downloading, and other common applications.
◆ VoIP: Future-oriented NGN, providing network telephone services.
◆ IPTV/VOD: supports various unicast or multicast video services, including IPTV and VOD services in PC or set-top box mode.
Residential broadband access network solution
This solution uses SALIRA2550OLT and SALIRA3300 series ONU to build residential broadband. the system fully guarantees and comprehensively considers reliability, standard applicability, security, scalability, SLA & QoS, and manageability, this platform is used to effectively implement data access and IP-based voice, data, and video services.
Network Topology

Local OLT configuration Scheme
Considering the large number of users in the residential area, this design uses the SALIRA telecom-level central station device OLT2550, which is a 10U design with a plug-in structure and is planned to be installed in the Central Data Center of the residential area. 28 downstream PON optical ports and 28 upstream GE ports are available in full configuration. The OLT can provide a maximum access capacity of 28 Gbps. This satisfies the needs of broadband access and subsequent IPTV services in the residential area.
Pon odn Network Solution
The OLT of the Project Center is installed in the residential area. Therefore, a optical splitter is used for one split. The beam splitter adopts the method of ground burial or the optical fiber transfer box in the residential area, in the installation box of the building, configure the number of fiber cores according to the quantity of ONU3346 configured for the building, and configure two fiber cores for each ONU3346 (1 core for main use and 1 core for backup ). For multi-building buildings, the two buildings should share one ONU3346 and use fiber cables to connect to building 1. The fifth type of lines in Building 2 will be directly delivered through pipe.
ONU Deployment Scheme
In the initial stage, the goal is to provide customers with data access services, and in the later stage, the goal is to provide IPTV and IP value-added services. In line with practical and economic principles, FTTB is planned to be deployed using Shengli ONU3346, fiber to the building, using wall-mounted head case, built-in ONU3346, ONU3346 out of 5 lines to the user's home. ONU3346 is the 24FE interface user end, which is a high-density economic user end.
Extended Access Solution
The EPON technology system has good scalability. As long as you add Optical Splitter/board devices and other devices for the current network planning of the residential area, you can easily and quickly expand the network, it does not affect existing services. For example, for this solution, some high-end customers in the residential area can provide FTTH (optical fiber to the household) access and rapid access to peripheral customers (only need to deploy Optical Fiber between the optical splitter and the user ). As there are no specific requirements, this scheme does not design and configure this method for the time being. You can plan it after further communication as required.
Features and advantages
