Some people, including the author, have the question: "Why is the hyphenation feature in Word 2010 selling not possible in my word?" "
In fact, this is caused by the default editing language settings for Microsoft Office programs. After we purchase the Chinese version of Microsoft Office 2010, the default editing language for office is set to Chinese (Chinese), as shown in the following illustration:
The default setting like this is not able to achieve the English letter hyphenation function, even if you open the Font Settings dialog box, set the hyphenation options and preview the effect of the hyphenation, click "OK", the text of the letter or can not be linked to the word: (Note that the following figure is a set of hyphenation effect is not implemented, Open the Font dialog box again after the screenshot)
To implement a hyphenation effect in the Chinese version of Office 2010, you need to change the default editing language to English (United States), do this:
1. Click Start menu, expand All Programs, expand Microsoft Office, expand Microsoft Office 2010 Tools, and click Run Microsoft Office 2010 Language Preferences.
2. In the Microsoft Office 2010 Language Preferences settings, in the Select an editing language area, click to select English (United States), and then click the Set as Default button on the right;
3. Click the OK button in the lower-right corner of the dialog box, and then restart the Office 2010 application, such as Word 2010.
OK, next, if you try the hyphenation feature again, you'll see that it works!
Finally, I'll show you a comparison of the non-hyphenation effect (left) and the hyphenation effect (right):
How does the hyphenation effect look more consistent with the writing habit? Oh. Note that Office 2010 introduces optional hyphenation features only for OpenType fonts.
For an explanation of the options for hyphenation effects and for more on OpenType fonts, see Microsoft's official Description:
