Solve various "slow" Problems in LAN

1. In the peer network of Windows98 and Windows95, access other computers through network neighbors. Sometimes, you have to refresh the page many times before connecting.

2. access other computers in Windows 2000 Server or Win dows 2000 Advanced Server
Especially when Windows 98 is accessed, it takes 30 to 50 seconds.

It is slow enough to connect to the Internet, and now it is slow enough to connect to the LAN. What should I do? Next we will work with the author to solve the problem of "slowness" in the LAN.

The main problems in the network are hardware and software. The "slow" Problem in the LAN should also be solved from these two aspects.

I. Hardware

First, let's make it hard. The hardware that determines the network speed is nothing more than the NIC, hub, and network cable.

1. Nic

In the early days, most Ethernet NICs were 10 M, and now 10 M/M NICs have replaced 10 M NICs. In addition, Gigabit NICs are also available. So, if you still use a 10 m Nic, I suggest you change it.

2. Hub

A hub is a central component of a Network. All data must be distributed to other computers. A common HUB, that is, a HUB, lags behind a switched HUB (vswitch) in its working mode. Therefore, when funds are sufficient, the speed of using a switch is much faster. But it is better to use some of the miscellaneous vswitches, rather than buy a 3COM or D-LINK with more money. If the funds are insufficient, it is best to make good use of the HUB.

3. network cable

Don't underestimate the network cable. The network cable of miscellaneous brands and some famous network cables such as ampu have significantly different transmission speeds, especially in a m network. The production of the crystal head is also the key. Many people think that as long as the order of the crystal heads at both ends of the line is the same, but they do not know that the four wires in the five cat-5e twisted pair are different. I used to go to a school to solve the problem of network disconnection. I checked the line sequence of the crystal head and fixed the problem again. There are two common standards for making crystal heads: T586A and T856B.

Note:

(1) When a HUB or vswitch is used for interconnection, the two ends of a line must be made using the same standard. It is best to use only one standard network cable on the same HUB or switch.

(2) When only two computers do not use hubs or switches, The 586A standard is adopted for one end of the line and 586B standard is adopted for the other end. Because the Ports 1 and 2 of the NIC are used to send data, while the ports 3 and 6 are used as the receiving data pins. The two different standards correspond to values 1, 2, 3, and 6.

(3) No matter how close the physical location of the two computers is, the line length should be better than 1.5 meters. Otherwise, the intermittent interruption may occur.

In addition, the maximum transmission rate of the coaxial cable is only 10 M, but its transmission distance is relatively far. Generally, the fine cable is 185 M, and the rough cable is 500 M. Therefore, if you do not use optical fiber cables for long-distance communication, you can only sacrifice the rate of coaxial cables.

2. Software

1. In a small network, NETBEUI is more efficient. Therefore, try to use TCP/IP and NETBEUI protocols in the LAN, or use only the NETBEUI protocol, as long as there is NETBEUI in the Peer network. No matter what protocol is used, the protocols on the two computers that access each other must be the same. If the protocol is different, you can use the following method to add the protocol.

Right-click "Network neighbors" and select "properties". In the "network" dialog box, press "add" and select "protocol ". To make your computer accessible to other computers, you must select "file and print sharing" to enable other users to access my files.

2. After completing the above steps, the problem can be basically solved in Windows98. However, it is still slow to access other computers through network neighbors on Windows 2000 Server. In fact, we can bypass the network neighbors of Windows2000 to access other computers. Here I provide three solutions:

Method 1

Enter:

"\ Computer name \ shared name" or "\ IP address \ shared name" to access shared folders on other computers.

Method 2

Right-click "my computer" or "Network Neighbor" and select "ing network drive". In Figure 3, select a drive letter, enter your computer name and shared name in URL format in "path. Then access the shared folder as you access the drive.

Method 3

Create a shortcut on the desktop to run the command in method 1.

All three methods can quickly access other computers in the network.
