Something about English Learning

Some time ago, the teacher had a meeting to discuss about English learning. At that time, what I said was relatively simple, which resulted in ambiguity (the simpler the language, the more complicated the expression ).

I remember that I said I had watched voaenglish for a few days and then started to take the Stanford University's "Programming Method" course (Note: This teacher spoke fast and had no subtitles ), this may give people a very bad feeling. In fact, it is not as simple as it is.

In fact, when I first got the video, I started the course at Stanford University. After all, I learned how to learn English and how to program. Who wouldn't want to do it. However, success is often not easy. The same is true. After a while, I felt that I couldn't hear a word, and suddenly my BS gave me a try. In order not to let the mood continue, I began to listen to the junior VOA. This subtitle was slow to read, and it was quite interesting. Some are about agriculture, some are about health, and some are about economics. Multiple touchpoints are really good.

However, when I listen, I feel impatient. I feel that the listening efficiency will be greatly reduced. So think ....

(Important)

Isn't listening to VOA just to improve English listening? How can I know that my listening comprehension is improved? It's easy to understand Stanford's courses.

Therefore, the best route (I personally think) is to listen to English for the purpose of understanding the Stanford course.

In this way, I know what to pay attention to when listening. No matter whether it is economic or healthy, my goal is to listen to "Audio", so the key is "pronunciation ". I think that as long as I listen to the pronunciation of all the articles he reads, I will be sensitive to these pronunciations.

It may take less than ten days for me to try Stanford's course. In fact, I want to test my persistence over the past few days.

After hearing it, I found that it was much better than the first time I heard it. I think that although the instructor speaks fast, the pronunciation is quite clear. And the words are commonly used, and some are commonly used by software, which is not a problem.

Summary:

The above is a lot of nonsense. In fact, I personally feel that this exercise has a subtle influence. However, if you want to have a goal, don't say it to you and you will start to listen to it, that is, to cultivate the feeling, it will be too slow. Focus on listening.

To make things more efficient, you must have a clear learning objective. And it would be better if you could see your step-by-step footprints (like listening to English, listening to a piece of VOA, then listening to Stanford to see if you have grown)
