After obtaining a public IP address from a computer, other users on the internet can directly communicate with you. According to the BT download principle, you can directly transmit the data to you, of course, the speed is faster. For users like ADSL dial-up access, if the Modem is configured as a bridge mode and the computer is used for manual dial-up, the obtained IP address is the public IP address, some ISPs also assign public IP addresses to LAN Access Users. Based on the port status, three different results are returned: the port is blocked, the port is open but not used, and the port is open and in use. The status is as follows.

2. Open download ports for Internet users

Why is the download speed of some users with public IP addresses so slow? This is generally because the computer has installed a firewall. Basically, in the default settings of common firewall software, it blocks other users from the Internet from actively connecting to you, you cannot receive the data that someone else sends to you. The speed is certainly not high. One way is to disable the firewall so that the download speed of BT will be faster, but the minimum protection for the computer will be lost and the security will be reduced. If you want to download BT quickly and use the firewall to ensure security, you must correctly open the BT listening port in the firewall software. If you want to download BT at high speed, you must set the parameters correctly, open the port. The following describes how to open the BT download port of the firewall.

Windows XP has a self-built firewall function. Many users who have installed Windows XP have enabled this function. Maybe, your BT download speed is blocked by an invisible "wall. In addition to the firewall that comes with XP, many users may install other professional firewalls. Take the firewall that comes with XP and the firewall of Skynet as an example. 1. Enable the BT download port in Windows xp icf:

ICF is short for "Internet Connection Firewall", that is, the Internet Connection Firewall. ICF is built between your computer and the Internet. Right-click "Network neighbors" and select "properties" from the pop-up menu. In the pop-up "Network Connections" window, right-click the connection used to access the Internet and choose "properties" from the pop-up menu ", the "Local Connection Properties" window is displayed. Select the "advanced" tab and click "Settings" at the bottom of the window. The "Advanced Settings" window is displayed. This page contains some common network services. To add a new BT service, click "add" at the bottom to bring up the "service settings" window, as shown in figure 7.

In this window, you can enter some information in the "service description" column, in the "name or IP address of the computer hosting the service on your network" column, enter the IP address or machine name of your machine (for example, I entered the local name WinXP ), enter 8881 in "external Port Number of this server" and 8881 in "external Port Number of this server". Do not forget to select TCP protocol and press "OK.

In this way, a "BT" service is added to the "service" column on the "Advanced Settings" page, as shown in figure 8. This service is open to port 8881. You can also create other ports used to open the BT download software.

2. Enable the BT download port in other professional firewalls:

ICF is not enabled on many computers, but other professional firewalls are installed. The following uses the common Skynet Personal Firewall 2.5.0 as an example to describe how to enable the BT download port. For other firewalls, refer to the settings.

Click "custom IP rules" in Skynet. On the "custom IP rule" page, click "add rule". The "IP rule modification" window is displayed, as shown in figure 9.

You can enter the name in the "name" field and some simple descriptions of the name in the "Description" field. You can enter the name as needed. Select "receive or send" in the "packet direction" column, select "any address" in "peer IP Address", and then select the "TCP" page, enter "from 8881 to 8999" in the "local port" column, and select "SYN" in the "TCP flag" column. Note, finally, do not forget to select "pass" in the "when the above conditions are met" column. The default option is blocking, which is opposite to the expected result, do not change other projects, and click OK. Now a "BT in Skynet" rule is added to the "custom IP rules" Page. Check the rule and click the "Save rule" icon above. Everything is OK ., See Figure 10.
