SPF -- standard parasitic format
Dspf -- Detailed standard parasitic format
RSPF -- reduced standard parasitic format
Spef -- standard parasitic Exchange Format
Sbpf -- Synopsys binary parasitic format
Summary: SPF, dspf, and RSPF are in the Candence format and do not contain information about crosstalk C. They cannot be used in PT Si.
Dspf has detailed RC information, which is relatively large in size and close to spice netlist.
RSPF is reduced SPF. It represents each net as an RC "Pi" model. RSPF causes the primetime tool to calculate an Elmore delay for every pin-to-pin interconnect delay.
Spef is a standard format provided by OVI and is adopted by IEEE. It can also be divided into dspef and rspef. spef, which contain the CAP between net and can be used to calculate crosstalk. It is used for PT Si.
Sbpf is a binary format, which is generated by synopsy. The size is small and the reading speed is fast. You can use synopsis software to write this format.
primetime can read dspf, RSPF, and spef and can automatically detect the format
from the file header. primetime can read spef versions IEEE 1481-1997, IEEE
1481-1998, and IEEE 1481-1999.
