The next generation of BASE-T will enter the stage of the standard development research team, the future direction of research and development is to balance the twisted pair copper cabling to reach at least 40g or even G Ethernet speed (GbE ), this approval is the first important milestone in the standard development process.

Why is CFI so important? You may have some knowledge about 40/100 GbE. At present, it seems that 40/100 GbE is developing well, except that the 40/100 GbE standard for balanced twisted pair copper is not defined yet. However, twisted pair copper has the largest installation volume in the world, in addition, the maximum speed of the specified Ethernet standard for balanced twisted pair copper cabling is 10 Gb.

CFI approval means that higher-speed Ethernet technology development on twisted pair copper cables can be widely supported in the industry. Why is it now?

According to my observations, 10GBASE-T is growing rapidly and its market penetration continues to increase. Over the past six years, when 10GBASE-T has gradually become a hot topic, it has only achieved slight development. However, the changes in the current market have given users greater expectations for this technology, I believe it is bound to develop rapidly.

Third-party analyst Seamus provides an overview of 10GBASE-T shipments and expected growth in the "market position. He highlighted several key drivers, including virtualization, cloud computing, and increasing storage access. He also mentioned other factors that will also boost demand for higher bandwidth, for example, the emergence of big data and converged networks may be used more.
