Starting! Frontpage12 a number of new features of the trial report

Recently tried the beta test version of Office 12, found in the Word, Excel and other software interface has changed greatly, the function also has many new changes. And today we're going to focus on the Forntpage 12 and see what new features and changes are coming.

First, the change of interface

Relative to Word, Excel and other software, FRONTPAGE12 interface change is not too big, but also give us some fresh feeling, as shown in Figure 1 is the new software interface. When you start the software for the first time, the window displays the following areas: Folder List, HTML properties (HTML property), Toolbox (Toolbox), Manage Styles (style manager), and edit window. You can also switch to CSS properties and the Apply Styles panel by clicking the appropriate button below the HTML properties (HTML attributes) and the Manage Styles (style manager).

Also, when we execute the "file/new" (File/New) menu command, instead of a page that was created directly in the previous version, a new dialog box was popped up, where you could choose to create a Web page or site and choose a different page type or site template, as shown in Figure 2.

A "Task Panes" is added to the menu bar where we can control the display of each panel in the software.

In addition to the above changes in the interface, the menu bar and toolbars have not changed much, but these changes in the interface also makes us feel that there seems to be some similarities with Dreamweaver, accustomed to using DW's friends can feel.

Two, edit (Editing menu)

Open the Edit menu and discover that there is an enhanced search option "incremental Search" and a History version option "Version History", as shown in Figure 3.

When multiple users are working on document collaboration, such as checking in, checking out, you can use version history to implement versioning of the document.

　　Third, view (Views menu)

In the View menu, there are also a number of additional control of the code display and edit the page when the auxiliary element display control, flexible use of them can facilitate our web page editing and preview, the new options are as follows: Tag Inspector trees (Tree Display code tags), Visible Borders (border visible), margins and Padding (Edge and fill), Navigation Pane (navigation panel), Quick Tag tree (Fast TreeView display label), as shown in Figure 4.

Create a new page, insert a table, and set the background color, and we use the commands in the Display menu to control its display. It should be explained that these control displays only work during the editing of the Web page and do not change the final effect of the page.

After the "View/tag Inspector Tree" menu command is executed, the code label is displayed graphically, as shown in Figure 5.

If you select the Visible borders option, you will see what appears as a border for the table, as shown in Figure 6.

When you select other options, the navigation panel opens or controls the display of the fill elements or edges in some pages.

Iv. Insert (Insert menu)

Let's take a look at the change in the Insert menu, most notably by adding HTML, ASP, to the Insert menu. NET and SharePoint objects, plus an additional Insert interactive menu option, as shown in Figure 7.

About HTML, ASP. NET and SharePoint object insertion method is relatively simple, after executing the corresponding menu commands, the Object panel appears on the right side of the software interface, we can use these objects, as shown in Figure 8.

Web designers or network engineers often use HTML and ASP.net objects, which can be implemented in Dreamweaver, but unlike Dreamweaver, FrontPage supports inserting SharePoint objects. Windows SharePoint Services is part of the Windows Server 2003 information Worker Infrastructure, which provides team services and sites for Microsoft Office systems and other desktop programs. In addition, it can serve as an application development platform.

FrontPage seems to be more inclined to transition to Windows SharePoint Services editing tools. Since Dreamweaver turned out, has gradually replaced the FrontPage Web Editing tool status, and even a lot of web designers completely abandoned the use of FrontPage, but now you will find that FrontPage 12 positioning has changed, It is transitioning to the best Windows SharePoint Services Editing tool. So who is going to do the task of web design? The answer is Microsoft Expression, which includes three new products, Graphic Designer (image design software, like Photoshop and Fireworks), Interactive Designer (interactive animation software, Similar to flash), Web Designer (web design software, similar to Dreamweaver). Interested friends can find the web designer software to try and see what is the same and different places with FrontPage and Dreamweaver.

Take a look at the use of interactive menus, execute the insert/interactive menu command, and pop up the Interactive Menus dialog box, as shown in Figure 9. We used to use Plug-ins in Dreamweaver to make interactive dynamic menus like this, and now it's easy to implement interactive menus with FrontPage 12 and more parameters to control menu effects.

Five, style (styles)

Style of support and management has been frongtpage weakness, the total feel no Dreamweaver use of the handy. Enhanced management of styles in FrontPage 12, open the Format menu to see commands for managing styles, including new style, CSS Styles (CSS styles), and more, as shown in Figure 10.

You can also edit and modify styles in the Style management panel, as shown in Figure 11.

You can also modify CSS styles directly in the CSS properties panel, which looks very much like the Dreamweaver8 style management panel, as shown in Figure 12.

VI. Tools (Tool menu)

There is only one Contributor Settings option added to the Tools menu, contributor in the English-Chinese computer Dictionary The meaning is "contributor (contributor, researcher)", in which we can set web design author information, This dialog box is used to show the designer's information when multi-user works together.

Vii. table (Form menu)

The Table menu has changed a lot compared to previous versions, and the new menus are more concise, but the functionality has not diminished, as shown in Figure 14.

Viii. Data (menu)

There are a lot of additions to the Data menu, such as the design data Form, the design workflow and edit Columns, Parameters, Insert formula, and so on, as shown in Figure 15.

FrontPage 12 External Data sources achieve better integration, and if you have installed Windows Workflow Foundation in your operating system, you can use FrontPage 12 to participate in the design of Workflow workflows.

Ix. Task Panes (working face Board)

With the new Work Panel menu, you can randomly control which work panels are being used as shown in Figure 16.

Well, we've got a rough idea of some of the new features of FrontPage 12, and we can see that its integration into external data is greatly enhanced, and that it emphasizes the role of overall collaboration, and that support for XML documents is also a new feature that Microsoft focuses on. XML is a standardized way to provide file formats, without the need for special application formats. It is estimated that 75% of new files will be built in XML within five years, and FrontPage 12 makes it easy to make XML documents and integrate well with external data.
