Take Dell PowerEdge R730xd as an example
1. Sign in to Dell's official website http://www.dell.com.cn/
2. Open technical Support--View all technical support
3. Select "Servers, storage and networking devices" in the Browse products
4. Select "PowerEdge"
5. Retrieve our server model "PowerEdge r730xd" in the search box
6, after the page will automatically jump to the 730XD support page, we continue to click on the "Driver and download" button
7, according to the operating system (R2) and categories (System Management) to search, a total of 38 downloadable files retrieved
8. Find "Dell OpenManage Essentials 2.1.0" in the search list and download
Installing the Dell OME
1. Double-click the downloaded Dell OME installation package, unzip the file first
2. Automatically run the installer after the decompression is complete, here we only install Dell OME
3, the pre-installation program will automatically detect whether the installation environment meets the requirements, for non-compliance, we can click on the "Install all key Prerequisites" button to let the program automatically prepare the installation environment
4, click "Install Essentials", you will be prompted to use the local database, when there is no database to use the local database, the program will automatically install the local database, when the local database installation is complete, click "Install Essentials" is the real start to install Dell OME
5, next-Accept--Typical installation--install, all with default values. Be aware of the installation summary, which may be used in subsequent use
You will install the Dell OpenManage Essentials v2.1.0 in the following directory:
C:\Program files\dell\sysmgt\
You have chosen to install the following features:
Dell OpenManage Essentials
Essentials Network Monitoring service port: 2606
The Essentials Task Manager service port number is: 1279
Essentials Console Boot port number is: 2607
The Essentials package Server port number is: 1278
Server name Essentials Database:(local) \sqlexpressome
authentication method: SQL Server Authentication
6, the installation is complete, the desktop will be more than a Dell ome shortcut
7, click "End" button will automatically open the Dell ome program
Configuring the Dell OME
1, the initial use of the Dell OME, will pop up the first set of welcome interface, directly off the line, the screen after the switch is as follows:

3. Set up Dell ome to automatically add monitored Idrac
Management--Find and inventory
Common Tasks--add Find scopes
4. Set the search scope
IP address range 10.12.28.212-213
We only monitor the IDRAC device, so check the first option below.
ICMP configuration is not changed
Enter the user name and password of the Idrac to be found, and the monitored Idrac User name and password should be kept as consistent as possible, or multiple lookup scopes would have to be added
Review the summary, confirm OK, complete
5. Look at the lookup scope we just created, and we've already started looking for the Idrac client.
6, return to the home page, view the summary information, the first figure below (Dell Ome find two devices, but do not confirm the device type), the second picture (Dell Ome has confirmed the type of two devices, and completed the inventory, and the device is working properly)
7. Set up email alerts on Dell ome
Management--Alerts
Common tasks-new mail Notification alert measures
Set the name of the alert action: Alerts Mail
To configure e-mail:
Recipient: w**** @vip. qq.com
Sender: [email protected] (fake e-mail address, want to let QQ mailbox normal mail, need to set up a white list in QQ mailbox)
Subject: Default value
Info: Default value, but manually replace the comma with a carriage return (just for the alarm message for easy reading)
Mail settings: Only set the SMTP server to 10.12.29.253, this is your own SMTP
In the middle can detect the sending mail configuration is correct, click the "Detection measures" button, and then go to QQ mailbox Check mail
Determine whether to send mail according to the severity, here for the convenience of testing, tick all
Select the alarm source, here to simplify the test, check all
Select the device or device group you want to associate, and in order to simplify the test, check all
Set the time limit for sending messages, not checked by default, no restrictions
Review the summary and click "Done" when you are sure it is correct
8. At this point, the Dell ome terminal configuration is complete, you can view the message alert rule just created in the following location

Configuring IDRAC
1, Login to Idrac, enter the overview--server--Alarm
Set the alert to "enabled"
Set Alert filters: Check All

2. Enter the next tab of the alert "SNMP and e-mail Settings"
Configure alert target 1: Check status, set Dell OME address
Click on the two Alarm test button on the right
3. Go to Dell ome to view two test alarms
