Microsoft's website provides a set of Windows SharePoint Services Chinese website templates for download, allowing us to easily create information and portals that meet specific requirements.

However, according to the download instructions, we can only use these templates in Windows SharePoint Services and cannot use them in SharePoint top-level sites.
After searching and experimenting, we finally successfully used these templates in SharePoint Portal Server to customize top-level websites.
The process is recorded to help other cainiao like me.
1. Take the "Enterprise IT Department website" template as an example to run the EXE file and extract the template file to a local location on the computer, such as c: \ spstemp
2. Go to the directory. The default value is c: \ Program Files \ common files \ microsoft shared \ Web Server Extensions \ 60 \ bin.
3. Use a template to define the top-level website in sharepointupload a website template using stsadm.exe. The format is as follows: stsadm.exe-O addtemplate-filename <template file path and file name. STP>-title <template title>-description <template description>
Input: stsadm.exe-O addtemplate-filename c: \ spstemp \ Enterprise-IT.stp "-title" enterprise IT Department website"
4. After the upload is complete, you will be prompted to restart IIS. Enter "iisreset" as prompted to restart IIS.
5. Then we can see that the template we uploaded is added to the selected template on the website created by SPS.
