Function 1: Modify parameters and never restart

I believe that many readers who have used other brands or third-party firmware drivers such as DD-WRT have had the experience of modifying various functional parameters of the routing device. After modifying the parameters in the past, the device will be prompted to restart, we have to enable the routing device to enable the modified parameters to take effect. However, this feature may cause disconnection or disconnection on the internet, seriously affecting normal network usage. However, this problem changes as the route firmware is refreshed to the TOMATO driver. After we modify any parameters on the TOMATO firmware management interface, the system will not restart. Because TOMATO exists various functions independently as a service, to make the parameters take effect, you only need to restart the corresponding service, and the wireless router itself will not start.

Step 1: use the default Management address and account name and password to go to the TOMATO management interface.

Step 2: set parameters as needed. For example, if we modify the wireless Parameters and change the SSID information to wireless, click the SAVE button in the small right corner to SAVE the Settings saved. some services are being restarted....

Step 3: Wait a moment and then the new wireless parameters will take effect. During this period, the wireless router itself has not restarted, so we have no network disconnection. The real purpose of modifying parameters is not to restart.

Function 2: Network Traffic

In the TOMATO firmware management interface, we can automatically draw network data traffic, bandwidth, and other functions. In addition, we can not only understand the current network usage on the traffic monitoring interface, it can also compare with the previous network resources and analyze data exception information. You can also effectively calculate the WAN interface traffic and Intranet interface traffic respectively.

Step 1: Go to the TOMATO Management page and find the Bandwidth setting group on the left.

Step 3: select the corresponding viewing type and you will be able to see the corresponding traffic in the main interface on the right. Of course, on the bandwidth traffic monitoring interface, we will see an interface named BR0, which is actually a virtual bridge interface, which helps the wireless router to quickly forward data within the LAN, it is of little practical significance in daily use and does not need to be overly concerned. The WAN interface and the LAN interface display the traffic statistics of the WAN interface and the internal network interface respectively.
