Summary of some experiences of the first startup-User Experience

I wrote a summary of my first failed start-up two days ago-product design, so I will continue to talk about my story in the previous article.

Once written as a product manager, you must always remind yourself of what is the core of the product and do not lose the direction.

I continued to write my story. As I mentioned earlier, when I had done a good job of accounting functions and statistics, I made some messy things and did not do the most important things well, how can this problem be solved? In fact, like me, many product managers who have no experience will feel that the function is complete and other functions can be done without considering the user experience.

You must be a user
How can we improve user experience? The best way is that you are the user and you are the most familiar user of this product. When this product is made for others and has never been used by others, will this product be useful? You may ask the customer to use it, give them comments, and then modify it? Wrong, the customer will give you comments, but some opinions are not necessarily true. You should filter them out. However, if you are not a user, it is difficult to judge which suggestions are reasonable, which have better solutions and which are unnecessary.

When I first started to make accounting statistics, I made statistical analysis based on several domestic and foreign companies and made ten types of charts. This is really a comprehensive statistical analysis and has very powerful functions, but .... I want to tell you this is wrong. Because I am a user, I use it every day. After half a year of use, I found that slowly, I would not look at such multi-faceted statistics. There are only three charts I really care about, I never see the remaining seven. In this case, you can optimize the three items by placing them in the most convenient place for the user to see. Other items can be placed in other menus or not. This can only be felt by yourself. If you ask the users, they will say that the statistics are good (generally new users, but they want to be better off). It can be used for half a year, then, I would like to tell you which charts he cares most about are too few users, and the complex functional interfaces may be lost in less than half a year.

Wang Lian, chief designer of workxp, said, "We will not add functions as soon as there is a need. We will make a judgment as to whether this function is necessary. Some users actually ask for false requirements ", it can be solved in other better ways."

Someone asked me, "How can we distinguish between pseudo-demand and real-world demand ?" The answer is also very simple. First, you understand the product design and architecture, and second, you must be a product user. In this way, a very qualified product manager can be created.

Only when you are a user who is most familiar with this product can you give best practices to others and design the best user experience for the product.

Convenience and security
When I was doing a website, the user gave me the most worried about security. Someone proposed to log on and add a verification code to prevent hard cracking and improve security. However, it will be difficult to find out after adding it. Sometimes it is wrong or cannot be seen clearly, causing a lot of inconvenience to the login. It is not convenient to use it, so it is optimized. When the user enters the password three times wrong, the system prompts that the IP address or MAC address must enter the verification code. Is this solution much better?

Recently, I was working on an SaaS CRM product, so I felt the user experience of several competitors. I guess I didn't care about the user experience when I managed 123. I guess I didn't even know what I did, the product has been released for three years. You need to enter a verification code every time you log on to the product... The slogan is the simplest and easiest to use... The CRM of eight hundred customers has been out for nine years. Besides the username and password, you must enter the company name! Is it necessary? I don't know if these design products have considered users? Use it by yourself? Put user experience first, simplify user operations through technology, and minimize unnecessary operations as much as possible, instead of for you to writeProgramIt is simple and easy to implement. Therefore, you need to input more things and move the mouse several times. I can understand if it is a project. If it is a product, it will be a dead end.

Sorry, I just mentioned that the user experience is a bit emotional, because some companies in China that are doing enterprise products are too bad and really want to scold me. This time I shared some of my experience on user experience and hope to help you. The reason for my first failure in entrepreneurship is not just what I have said, there are still a lot of things I didn't expect in the future, so I have time to continue writing.
