Check TCP/IP settings SyGate server and client communicate through the TCP/IP protocol, before installing the SyGate software, you must check that your workstation has already used the TCP/IP protocol. The installation can succeed only if the network adapter sets the TCP/IP protocol and the TCP/IP stack exists.
In Windows 98 and Windows NT, the TCP/IP stack is usually set automatically when you install the NIC. In Windows 95, the TCP/IP stack is not the default setting, so you need to install it manually.
Please note that installing the TCP/IP protocol requires you to insert the Windows 95 installation CD. Note: In Windows 95, you may need to bind the network card to the TCP/IP protocol. tab, pull the scroll bar, select the NIC that is already bound to the TCP/IP protocol, and click the Properties button to view the properties of this network card.
Check Internet connection settings
To simulate line dialing or ISDN dialing from a serial port share, the settings in Dial-Up networking are essential. Save the account number and password for login to the Internet for proper login. Note: With Ethernet-connected ISDN, XDSL, cable modems, and DIRECTPC, you need to make sure that these devices are connected to your computer by Ethernet. Set up cable Modem, xDSL and DIRECTPC via cable or xDSL network modulation mediator, your sygate server requires two net card. One for connecting the modulation mediator to the Internet, and another for connecting the LAN. In this way, your LAN can be safely separated from the Internet and your network will not cause excess traffic to the backbone network.
SyGate3.1 also supports DIRECTPC and some brands of one-way cable modems, such as surfboard 1200.
