Telnet WIN7 no-echo solution

Windows 2000 and XP, by default, turn off the Telnet echo, which is inconvenient to operate, and for the Telnet program to implement local echo, you can do the following:

1. Run a telnet command with no arguments in the command window, perform/help view the subcommand for Telnet

Telnet has the following instructions:

Close closes the current connection
Display operation parameters
Open Connect to a site
Quit Exit Telnet
Set settings option (to list, type ' set? ')
Status Print state information
unset settings option (to list, type ' unset? ')
?/help Printing Help information

Where there is a parameter Local_echo control echo or not, different operating systems may have subtle differences

2. For Windows2000, the order is:

Set Local_echo//Note that this command is executed under the Telnet window;

Then use the QUIT command to go back to the cmd window and the window displays the following

Set Echo:
Escape character is ' Ctrl +] '

Microsoft telnet> set local_echo//Set local echo
Microsoft Telnet> quit

This method is valid for a long time, and the characters entered in the Telnet program window on the TCP server can be returned later.

However, for some versions of Windows XP, even if you do this, you still cannot achieve your purpose. This is a telnet in XP

Defects. You can refer to the following steps to resolve this.

1. Start a telnet program by telent IP port to connect to the TCP server.

2. Press Ctrl and "at the same time in the Telnet program window of the TCP server on the connection, and then execute in the prompt window

Set LOCALECHO command, Press the Enter, command execution, Press ENTER again, exiting the current window, will come to a new

Telnet window, the content entered in this window can be displayed.

Note that the above method is only valid for the current window, and the previous procedure will still need to be repeated in the newly connected Telnet window.
