The architecture of LVS cluster

The LVS cluster architecture, shown in Figure 9, is divided into three layers, a complete LVS load Balancing project, and a robust architecture in which the load balancing layer, the real server layer, and the back-end shared storage layer are mutually reinforcing and essential parts.

LVS Advantage

Use a common server + open source software to replace expensive commercial hardware equipment, saving costs, especially for companies in the start-up development of effective cost savings. It has three main components:

(1) Load balancer (Load balancer): Is the entire cluster outside the front

End machine, which is responsible for sending customer service requests to a set of real servers

execution, and the customer considers the service to be from the same IP address.

(2) Server pool: Service requests issued by clients

Transfer to service pool after load balancer processing, response by Real server

Requests and returns data. The services performed by the real server are WWW, Mail,

FTP and DNS, which are distributed across a high-speed LAN or geographically

WAN connected to the ground.

(3) Back-end storage (backend Storage): Provides a server pool with a

Shared storage, which makes it easy for each server to provide the same service.

The role of each layer:

Load balancer (Loading balancer):

The load balancer is the front-end of the entire cluster system and is responsible for forwarding customer requests to real server.

Backup is backing up the load balancer, replacing it when the load balancer is not available, becoming the actual load balancer.

The Load balancer monitors the health status of real servers through Ldirectord. Remove the real server from the cluster when it is unavailable, and rejoin it when it resumes.

Server Array (server farm):

The Server array is a set of machines that run the actual application services, such as Web, Mail, FTP, DNS, media, and so on.

In practical applications, Load balancer and backup can also serve as real server roles.

Shared Storage (Share storage):

Shared storage provides sharing storage space and consistent data content for all real servers.
