The architecture supported by debian and gentoo is much faster-the Linux Release Technology-Debian information. For more information, see the following. Currently, gentoo supports 10 types of architectures: x86, iSCSI, amd64, ppc, ppc64, alpha, hppa, mips, ia64, and arm.
After lenny, arm will no longer support it, new support for armel, some changes to the world of iSCSI (sparc32 no longer support it, focus on sparc64), and mips no longer support it. This is 11-1 + 1-1 = 10.
The main difference between gentoo and debian is that gentoo supports ppc64 while debian supports s390. (Arm, armel, mips, and mipsel are big differences ). I have never heard of s390, but I checked it as a mainframe of IBM. This also shows that gentoo is more desktop-to-desktop.
