This evening, we will mainly back up the important installation software. When burning vs2005.iso, Nero 9 prompts that a single file larger than 2 GB cannot be burned in ISO format, and the UDF format is required. The error "TRF cannot be connected" occurred when I re-used the UDF for the burning operation. I thought it was because the original file was not on the mobile hard disk, it was later proved that this was not the reason. I checked the relevant information on the Internet. Many netizens found the error, but I did not find the answer. Then, I used Google to search outside China. Similarly, there were few answers for help!
Some foreign users suggested that the virtual memory is insufficient and the virtual memory needs to be increased. I think they mainly met "the dialogue box says: Can't connect TRF. not enough memory. "I don't have a prompt about insufficient memory, but I also added virtual memory as they said, but the problem still persists and the error will still appear.
"
Try these two things:
- Reboot-can free up some space in your memory or swap file-You cocould have too much applications running at the same time.
- Add some swap space. how to do: Right CLIC on desktop --> properties --> advanced --> Performances --> advanced --> modify --> choose a memory size x1.5 than the ram size (E. g I choose 512 for initial and 512 for max ).
I did not test the method of restarting the machine. I just proved that the second method is not feasible.
References to the problem I have collected:
First, we will introduce two common CD formats: ISO and UDF:
ISO-9660: ISO, developed by the International Organization for Standardization in 1985, is currently the only general-purpose CD file system, any type of computer supports it, all the burning software also supports it. And, if you want to make all the CD-ROM read the burned disc, you must use a ISO-9660 or a file system that is compatible with it, other file systems can only be read on the CD-R or CD-RW (some also need the appropriate burning software ). ISO-9660 currently has two standards: level 1 and level 2. Level 1 is compatible with DOS. The file name adopts the traditional 8.3 format, and all characters can only be 26 uppercase letters, 10 Arabic numerals, and underlines. Level 2 is improved based on Level 1. long file names are allowed, but DOS is not supported.
UDF is the abbreviation of the uniform disc format (Universal disc format. It uses the standard encapsulation write technology (PW, packet writing) to use the CD-R as a hard disk, users can modify and delete files on the disc. The basic principle is to package data during the burning process, create a special file directory table in the memory, and take over the system's access to the CD. The modified part of the deleted file or file still exists in the CD-R disc, the modified part is written into the disc as a separate data block, but in the memory directory table, you can re-combine the data by setting the allowed and not allowed access, and other redirection addressing methods such as special links, so that the system cannot find the "old data", or replace the old data with the new data, in this way, deletion and modification are achieved. After the operation, the user writes the new directory table back to the disc and writes down the operation content so that the disc can be read and restored in the future (UNDO ). In this way, the operation convenience is undoubtedly greatly increased. In addition, when using udfs, you can use the resource manager in Windows to perform the burn-in operation, after each session is completed, you must close the session to reduce the chance of burning failure. Currently, the software that uses UDF technology also supports the burning of the CD-RW disk, but in some details are different, such as the deletion of files is really deleted rather than the deception of the operating system. However, while adding convenience while UDF also reduces the effective storage space, and also needs to format the CD-R with the CD-RW disk in advance, the size of the formatted CD-RW disk must be reduced by nearly 100 MB. In addition, it also has a derived format, namely UDF/ISO, which uses UDF technology to create ISO-standard CDs.
Differences between the two:
ISO does not support a single file larger than 2 GB
UDF Supports files larger than 2 GB
ISO: good compatibility
UDF: DOS and Win98 systems do not support this format. They are supported by 2000 and XP systems and MAC systems.
The correct method for burning files larger than 2 GB with NERO:
When creating a file in Nero, select a DVD, select a DVD or UDF, and select "no multi-partition (no multisession )"
Note: "No multi-section (no multisession) is selected to maintain the maximum compatibility of the DVD. It can be obtained from the vast majority of optical drives.

The burning with Nero failed-some clues to why
URL: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php? Postid = 238906 # post238906
I provide my solutions:
1. Locate the error by prompting "unable to connect to TRF"Code
2. Use the error code to find the error type and find the corresponding solution.
In the installation directory of nero9, I found the following content in nerochs.txt and found the error code and type.
[Neroapi]
4 = write error
6 = this recorder does not support one-time disc burning.
7 = Error: \ n cannot connect to TRF.
2 = initialization failed
3 = read error
5 = user Suspension
8 = unknown neroapi Error
In reference 2 above, I found

Solution:
Your Nero software failed to install properly or was upted by the installation of another software.
Use the Nero clean tool to uninstall the software from your system: http://www.nero.com/eng/Clean_Tools.html
Then install Nero latest version. Don't use your installations disc-download the latest one here: http://www.nero.com/eng/nero-up.php then add your serial number after the installation
"Download Nero General cleantool (general-cleantool.zip) and save it to the desktop.
Use WinZip or WinRAR to decompress the package.
Double-click the extracted EXE file to run cleantool.
After running, the "Nero General cleantool" window appears, showing the installed Nero products.
Next to the Nero product you want to delete.
Click "clear. A status window is opened.
It may take several minutes to complete the deletion process.
Please wait until the progress bar is moved to the rightmost end.
After the deletion process is complete, click "exit" in the "Nero General cleantool" window ".
Restart the computer. Nero General cleantool has deleted all selected Nero entries from the computer ." Http://www.nero.com/chs/tools-utilities.html#tab4
I downloaded the Nero clean tool and followed it. It still didn't solve the problem (but I didn't restart the machine). I don't know if I can restart the tool for the moment.

Error: \ ncannot connect TRF ."
Solution:
You have a basic problem with your windows swap file-it's to low. How much free disk space do you have on your hard disk?
Try these two things:
- Reboot-can free up some space in your memory or swap file-You cocould have too much applications running at the same time.
- Add some swap space. how to do: Right CLIC on desktop --> properties --> advanced --> Performances --> advanced --> modify --> choose a memory size x1.5 than the ram size (E. g I choose 512 for initial and 512 for max ).
If someone solves the error of "cannot connect to TRF" when using the UDF format to burn, please let me know. You are also welcome to provide solutions!
